I'm looking to get into a new board and I'm now debating between a byerly conspiracy and a blunt. I want something with a looser feel to it so thats why i've been leaning towards the blunt but i have also read posts where guys who have a real loose board cant hold their edge all the way into the wake. Has anyone ridden either of these boards and can give me some first hand insight? Or maybe even other suggestions for boards even though im leaning towards getting a byerly. I weigh 185 so a 142 is preferable and thats another reason thats scaring me away from the blunt(wich is 140) but who knows. Any advice would be appreciated.

I ride a slingshot recoil i like it its loose and has removable fins. Most of the slingshots are loose feeling but good on edge but im a huge SS fan. It has good flex and good pop. only byerly ive ever rode are the skates so cant help you with that alot of shops do demo days might want to look at that.

I ride the 2011 54in conspiracy and love it. I wouldn't consider it very loose. However it gives great pop off the wake. I will say i use to ride the 142 but when I sent it in for warranty they sent me back the 54. I wouldn't go back to the 142 now though. I'm same weight as u and 5'11".

All I ride are 54/137 boards and I'm 6'2" 179 pounds.

I haven't ridden either board so I can't help you there, but you don't need a 142 IMO.

Best,

Dusty

if you are interested in a Phalanx CW 425 i have one left that i can give you a discount on. Based on your description of what you are looking for in a board I think the CW would fit, its fast and loose but with good, consistent pop. you can reach me at joe@phalanxwake.com if you have any questions. thanks!

I'm 5'8" 186 lbs. and I felt the blunt was too big for me and I usually ride 142 boards. It's a lot of surface area. With the fins all the way out the board is super locked but move them in and it gets nice and loose but not super loose. Super soft landing though.
