I am looking at getting one or two ballast bags one of them around 450 lbs and another around 250 lbs. I'm wondering if the Attwood Tsunami 800 or 1200 pumps are any good and if they can be used manually to just throw over the side of the boat with a hose to fill the bags because we don't use the boat enough to justify spending the extra money and time to plumb a system in.

Yup, there's a gazillion posts on these pumps on the internet. You can make your own manual pump for a lot cheaper than buying the $99 one.

You'll need to get a few parts from http://www.wakemakers.com/wakeboard-ballast-parts/wakeboard-ballast-fittings

I had both a 1200 and 800 that I used manually before I plumbed my system. The 1200 is significantly faster when using it manually. You can find them on Amazon for a few bucks more than the 800.

Another question about the 1200 pump... It comes with 1 1/8" inlets and outlets but my ballast bags will be 3/4". I know I could find an adapter but would it slow the pumping down to around 800 GPH? If so I might as well get the 800.
