Moomba help

I just bought me a 2001 Moomba outback I know it's not ideal for wake boarding but I was on a budget. I am needing some help on making a bigger wake out of the boat and was bedding some Ballest set up on where to put it. Can u put a wedge on this boat!? Put a f blade prop on? Any help would be great thanks Marty

I've seen a couple guys build wedges for their non-Malibu boats. I remember they had to really reinforce it well because that puts a lot of pressure on the boat. It would be nice to have but ballast bags are a lot cheaper. Yes they do get in the way but for the price.... You can't beat it. You should prolly try like 500lbs on each side of the engine and then see how you like that and work from there. Just my thoughts Very Happy

I would put a sac under the rear seat and maybe one in the ski locker. I have a Moomba DD and with the rear tank full the wake is great!

It is better than my non existent boat. I would try doing a sac on either side of the engine compartment or putting one in the bow and then filling part of one in the back/back compartment. You may want to try putting weight in the front first and then adding to the back.

A general rule of thumb I have seen is 60% front, 40% back. And just get out there and try to move the weight around and you will find something that works. I agree that sacs will be easier and cheaper than trying to put a wedge on.

Thanks for the help guys now the next question is would a four blade prop help out much ?

60 rear 40 front is the typical split or at least a good starting point for an inboard.

1. Do not put wedge on, buy a malibu if you want a wedge.
2. Get a bunch of weight, move it around a try different things
3. Prop will make no difference at all in your wake. Hole shot and speed control, maybe depending on how/if you change up the pitch.

How have you liked this boat now that some time has gone by? I am looking at a 2002 outback LSV that looks very nice, and that already has 1100lbs of ballast added to it, with pretty limited hours. I'd love to know what you think of it and how your experience has been.
