89 Malibu Sunsetter Problems Please HELP

Hey guys, just bought an 89 sun setter thats been fully restored with 500 hours. i got it out friday and it over heated on me right off the trailer. I noticed the water pump on the bottom of the motor (not the circulating pump) was cracked and it was shoveling water out the crack so i got it back on the trailer and took it to the marina. Also i noticed my tranny fluid was a little milky also not bad but it wasn't as bright red as i know i should've been. Can anyone help me on this as far as what i can expect. Thanks guys Great Forum

Have you replaced the water pump impeller? Could be a cause of why the engine is over heating. I picked up mine at west marine and it was only 30 bucks and it has a gasket and a little rubber ring in it that you need to replace each year also. I don't know much but hope it helps.

Also that crack has to be fixed!
