I'll be at Greers Ferry Lake in central Arkansas on Tuesday, June 19. (weather permitting) to teach a couple groups of Boy Scouts how to wakeboard.
Did the same thing last year and had a great time.
Last year's groups were from Tyler, TX and Joplin, MO.

Any of you who are fortunate enough to own a boat and can spare a day or two of vacation, check with your local Scouts or other Summer camps to see if this is an option.

It may be the only way some of them ever get to learn.

Thank Allah we are talking about wakeboarding. Title was a bit misleading.

How did it go? Serious question-do they now offer a Wakeboarding merit badge for scouts? I'm pretty sure i remember a Waterskiing. I know for sure I earned a Canoeing, Small Boat Sailing, and Motoboating merit badge when I was in scouts.

It looks like the waterskiing badge is geared towards skiing or wakeboarding.

Title is fixed now.
LOL
There were 7 kids.
4 learned to wakeboard.
2 earned their merit badges.
Had to cross the wake at least four times before falling, have a controlled fall, and demonstrate the ability to put on the bindings in water.
I brought along my old Mutiny Wake Skate as a bonus.
Gave the two merit badge winners another chance to one-up their fellow Scouts.
Both were able to get up on the first attempt!
Cool

Epic day on the water.

One of my neighbors has offered his Malibu VLX to the Scouts on July 3rd.
I told him about my results today, so he wants at least 5 of his group to learn, or he'll be OK if 3 of them get merit badges.

As a former scout. I think your idea is awesome. My dad stays very involved with my old scout troop at our church. When I get a boat, I will definitely offer this for our troop.

I think that would be really cool. My little twin brothers are involved in Cub Scout, haven't quiet made it up to Boy Scouts yet, but they haven't done anything like in my area neither Cub or Boy. I think that it would be an awesome opportunity for them to go out and try something that they may never in their lives get to experience because they would never be introduced to such things. For instance, my little brothers have never wakeboarded because they are at my mom's house and never go to the lake, but they are at least familiar with the sport.
