My shaft log is broke so im trying to replace it with the new one but cant remove the coupler \ yolk from the drive shaft. I have tried multiple different methods. the prop came off easy. It has a large nut on the inside that has been removed already but the key still remains. I have tried everything to get this thing off. Any suggestions?
I thought of something last night though. Maybe I have to pull the coupler towards the back of the boat first remove the key and then pull it off? I'm out of options.
well i got it off after i pulled the strut. I put everything back together and took it out for a test run yesterday. I looks like my drive shaft is bent. It wabbles just a little bit and makes a little vibration now .
New Question: Is it better to fix the old drive shaft and put it back on or buy a new one? If new, where would you get one? I found one at discount inboard marine but thats the only place. thoughts appreciated.
