I'm looking at a new to me boat and 1 of each of these is close by. I've read as many reviews as I can find, have test driven some of these and will be testing the others today. In your opinion, which boat would be the best investment (low cost of upkeep) and best wakeboard option for say the next 8 years or so? They are all very nice.
In order of cost (highest first), but are all within $2k of each other:
2005 Air Nautique 226 TE (250 hours)
2005 Malibu Wakesetter 23V (444 hours, base 350 engine)
2005 Mastercraft X Star (205 hours, base 350 engine)
Should I run from any of them? We average around 55 to 65 engine hours per year with about 95% of that wakeboarding.
Thoughts? |

Well, I went with the X Star and couldn't imagine me being happier with the other boats. The last few weeks have been amazing on the water.

| Surprised nobody replied to the post last month. Congrats on getting the new boat... X-Star is the boat of choice for me! I have a 2004 w/ the 8.1L with the same exact graphics with white hull/deck and a heavy metallic bright blue on the side. Absolutely love it and the X-Star has been my favorite wake since I first rode it a few years ago. Glad to hear you're enjoying it! |
