I just took out my new Ronix Mana yesterday for the first ride of the season (Epic) and this is the first good board I've had and would like to keep it pristine for as long as possible.
What tips do you guys have for board care before the water/ during/after?
I'm really looking for anything you guys do to keep your board as nice as possible. Including how often do you take your boots off?
Thanks in advance! |

vossy003, If you ride salt-water, maker sure to rinse it off with fresh water and let dry before storing. Other than that, don't worry about it.
It's a wakeboard, meant to be ridden and will get some small dings and scratches along the way; but that just shows you're actually using it and it's not hanging on a wall or sitting in a corner untouched. |

I used to be picky about my board but after i rode cable a few times and seen how rough these boards are treated, it changed my thinking a little. These boards can take a beating! 2nd the saltwater statement above but other that that just ride the board and dont worry about it.
I have three boards and they have been treated pretty rough and 2 are in really good condition. The only reason the 1 board is not is because i had it in the tower rack and hit the dock pole while pulling in. It split the end of it but i just threw a little super glue in there and clamped it overnight and you can barely tell anything has ever ben damaged. |

I always throw on a couple coats of marine wax. A good example of this is me and one of my buddies both bought the new white/green ronix one board within a week apart, and have both ridden the same amount on them. Mine is still pure white while his is already fading pretty bad. Both of us take really good care of our boards. I know the board companies say not to wax the boards, but it really does preserve the colors, and i have yet to say any negative effects on the board. Just dont use a compound wax with alot of grit. Use a regular wax. _________________ Rider: "Howd that last trick look?"

i ride 95% fresh, but our river turns anything white to brown i just rinse all my gear down with a hose at the end of the day, let it dry out fer a couple hours then throw it all in my board bag and put it in the garage _________________ Lanexa VA |

the marine wax probably helps prevent UV light attacking the colours hence less colour fading, but to be honest i don't think it really protects the board, structural wise.
keep the board out of salt water, and once in a while have a look at the EDGES of the board to see if there're any splits/dings, and fix them/seal them up. the boards lose their strength/rigidity when you let water seep into the core and corrode it from inside. the bottoms are actually pretty tough, don't worry about scratches unless you can see the inside. |

| I take the bindings off during the winter. During the season I just leave them attached to the board at all times. I do check to make sure the screws are tight before each set. My fiance lost a clamp and screw for one of her bindings while riding. I guess we forgot to check that one. Luckily she was not hurt. A board bag will help keep it from getting scratched or dinged on the way to and from the lake. |

Don't forget and leave it out on the rack on the boat
My buddy has two boards that used to be black that are now a weird whitish purple color. |
