Just installed some fat sacks in my boat over the weekend. I'm running 2 bags and using a single 1200gph bilge pump for filling and another for draining. The bags fill great but draining is a problem and the bilge pump just lightly pumps water out with the occasional major burst.

I've tried running the bilge pump in every orientation and even tried putting the bags above the bilge pump without any change. I have the two drain lines coming together with a T fitting which then connects them to the pump about 2-3 feet from the bags and roughly level with the drain ports. I'm still waiting on my quick connect fittings so I do have a few leaks but it's nothing drastic.

Are the leaks causing the problem with draining or are my lines set up incorrectly?

Could be causing the pump to draw some air.

Sounds like air in the system is causing a problem. If you get air in the bags you will have pump issues.

I solved this problem with my setup by mounting the pumps as low as possible.
