|
|
Just sold my 2003 Sanger V210 and looking to get a new boat (time to upgrade). I sold it because I just want something a little nicer. We had an automatic fat sac system put in that frankly wasn't that great, so I'd love one with tanks in the hull. I also want perfect pass and other features like a heater (preferably) and a sound system. Ive been looking at Mastercraft X10's and X30's mostly along with a lot of Super AirNautique 210's and a few Wakesetters here and there. I'm not that educated on these 3 series of boats (wakesetters, x-series, and the SAN series), so I'm wondering what everyone thinks is the best fit in the 35-45 thousand dollar price range. I'm looking for something that throws a descent ski wake between 28 and 30 mph and something that will throw an above average wakeboarding and surfing wake. If you think theres a boat not in the ones I mentioned above, I'm definitely willing to look into them.
Any input would be very much appreciated! _________________ live it up |

| Axis A22 would be another one to take a look at. Throws a world class wakeboarding wake, and I've heard its ski wake is pretty decent as well. Just my 2c. |

| Those boats that you mentioned are better setup for wakeboarding and surfing. The wake will be above average and the surf wave should be good. However, not sure how great the ski wake will be. It will be doable, but not sure how good it will be. Are you looking for a boat marketed as a crossover or are you looking for a wakeboat you can ski behind? |

Nautique SV-211 - will have relatively little trouble finding 04-08s
Moomba Outback V - again no trouble finding some 2011s, and you might be able to find a deal on a 2012.
Mastercraft X1- Old 205v hull, there are some out there right now and I have seen a couple of 08s and even one 09 listed in the mid to low 40s.
Malibu Wakesetter VTX - This one will probably be the hardest to find in the 35-45 range, although there are a couple starting to pop up in high 30s and mid 40s, I think it has the ski-based diamond hull (someone correct me if I am wrong).
Supra Sunsport 20V - there should be some out on boattrader, onlyinboards, and craigslist for the mid to high 30s.
The potential downside to these boats is that they are all 21 ft and under, but if thats not a problem then I would definitely consider looking at those models. _________________ " You're not drunk if you can lie on the floor without holding on."-Dean Martin |

I have been looking at the Axis here and there, but haven't really seen any under 60 grand so far.
I'm not necessarily looking for a specific "crossover" boat (although I am open to it), but the ski wake needs to be decently good. You can ski behind any boat if you really want to, but we have a few pretty good skiers in the family that are going to complain if they have to hit a 2 foot high wake every time they cut across.
As far as size, I'd like to keep it in the 21-22 foot range, although the X-2 would be ok just because of how spacious it is inside.
How is the reliability/quality on the Moomba and Supra boats? _________________ live it up |

Not sure your going to find exactly what your looking for. The only vdrive that i know of is the Nautique 200 and its expensive and 20'. It would have the ski wake that your skiers would like. I have one slalom skier in the family and he constantly complains about the wake behind my supra 22. I think its less the size but more how firm it is at 32mph.
The 2 boats I would try to check out would be a VLX and a MB f21. I don't know much about Tige but I hear they have a great surf wake maybe one of their smaller boats can clean up for slalom. The other boat that comes to mind is the Malibu XTI, but wake surf may be hard behind a DD. |

Is the wake on the Nautiques that bad for skiing? I found an 07 for 42,000 that I think I can bargain down and like it so far. I know the Nautiques have the HydroGate, can anyone comment on how much those affect wake shape/how well they actually work? _________________ live it up |

| I am not very knowledgeable on nuatiques. I'm sure there are some people on this forum that will help you out, but you should check out planetnautique.com. There is a forum on that website dedicated to nautiques only. There is also an extensive nautique classified section. |
