Has anyone riden both of Parks boards? I ride about 90%boat 10%park, so I'm sure the Modello is the obvious choice over the ATR but is there a difference riding the ATR on the boat? In Park's video on the boards he basically says the ATR is exactly the same but with the grind base, so why would anyone buy the Modello then?

Good question. The weight difference is subtle and price difference is small. Personally, I feel that the Modello is for someone that rides 100% wake (and there are a lot of those guys out there).

If you are going to hit rails--at all. Get the ATR. That Sintered base is tough and slides super smooth. It is worth a few ounces and a couple of bucks.

I thought the ATR was the carbon fiber version of the board?

I do believe that the ATR does have additional carbon fiber in its lay-up, but the biggest difference is the Sintered base.

If anyone's interested I emailed Ronix and here was the answer they gave...

There won't be a huge difference between the 2 boards behind the boat. The main differences between the two is the ATR edition has more carbon and also has a sintered base. More carbon means the board is stronger, a bit more responsive and also holds its shape better. The sintered base is mostly for hitting rails and sliders but it also gives you more glide speed on the water and it doesn’t hurt to have it since it protects the bottoms of your board. Basically it just comes down to how much you want to spend!

Ive ended up actually going to the 2012 LF S4, no reflection on the ronix board but I think the S4 is more suited to my style of riding, plus I've got LF bindings and rather keep them the same
