Anybody want to suggest some good videos? Been looking for blurays and can't find much. Not looking for anything instructional, just eye candy stuff. Thanks in advance for your suggestions _________________ Don't rush to judge me, no matter how fast you won't be the first one. |

Defy comes in a DVD/Bluray combo pack. I do not know of any other Bluray, but the Parks Documentary is one of my favorite DVD's.
Art of Flight is one of my favorite movies ever. It comes in a Bluray/DVD combo. It is snowboarding but the whole movie is just insane. And the soundtrack is amazing.

Art of Flight is awesome. It's the Defy of snowboarding. Or maybe Defy is the AOF of wakeboarding. _________________ rally to the wake |

| Defy is a good film. There are a lot of different camera angles and helicopter shots. There are some really cool obstacles and riding other than just behind the boat. I just watched the DVD I do not have bluray, but I bet the bluray would be really good. |

Defy, Global Warning and In Transit are the only HD wake vids I can think of. _________________ 2010 Watson Hybrid

Defy, Parks doc. Global Warning is BluRay. New Wake DVDs are getting harder and harder to get. Slick City is not in BluRay..
Older titles from Sidewayz will dry up and you will never be able to get those. So if you want older titles get them while you can. We are not able to get a number of wake titles at Boardflix and Boardstop.com these days. _________________ Wakeskating

I definitely want to buy to support, but maybe someone could set up some torrents for those hard to get vids. In my eyes if it's the only way to get it, it's not wrong. Better to spread the media than let it die imo _________________ Don't rush to judge me, no matter how fast you won't be the first one. |

I am still not a fan of this since our industry is so small. If you knew how much these guys have to go thru to make a dvd. If they end up on torrents we may never be able to convince a producer to make any new videos. _________________ Wakeskating

Well that's disappointing. I need to pick up NBT on DVD! Also, and I know this is a long shot, but is there any way to get high quality copies of FLF vids like HIT IT! and Spray? _________________ "Dumb dumb Cobe. Almost got in a fight. Almost got kicked off the island." |

I might be out of NBT... the Hit it and Spray DVD combos were a sidewayz re-release. those are drying up fast also. I may not even have those left either. _________________ Wakeskating

I have the Spray/HIT IT!/MayDay combo on DVD, just was never impressed with the quality. IIRC, they were filmed in 16mm so I was hoping for a high quality transfer to BluRay or something. I'd seriously pay $100 for a high quality copy of HIT IT!. Again, I know it's quite a long shot... _________________ "Dumb dumb Cobe. Almost got in a fight. Almost got kicked off the island." |

flixmaster, I understand supporting the industry but if we can't get the vids anywhere what good is letting them fade away into oblivion? _________________ Don't rush to judge me, no matter how fast you won't be the first one. |

I understand what you are saying.. I guess just seeing these guys struggle all these years I feel for every producer that has spent their life savings trying to make it in the industry. Maybe if people would have bought or bought sooner we would still have more wake producers in the industry. _________________ Wakeskating

Yeah I hear ya and its a shame they don't get the support. You could argue both ways about the torrents. They might encourage people to just DL the easily available titles and cost the producers, or they might just DL the impossible to find titles spreading the word, encouraging more producers to get out there and make movies. There are definitely 2 sides to the coin. _________________ Don't rush to judge me, no matter how fast you won't be the first one. |

Hopefully Ronn and I can figure something out.. We have always worked with Ronn and really want to try and do what we can for people in the industry. We have a really small industry so everything we can do to keep our industry strong is what I hope for. _________________ Wakeskating

Who owns the rights to the FLF videos? Ronn/Sidewayz? I don't think it would be that hard to get 1,000 people to commit to buying an FLF BluRay pack for $125. It'd have to be great quality - transfers from the 16mm original films. I'd seriously pay that just for a HIT IT! copy, but make it a Spray/HIT IT!/MayDay combo to appeal to more peeps. Throw in as many Extras, deleted scenes, interviews with riders (past and present).
You could fund this via Kickstarter (I think). Put the goal at $125,000 ($125 per person, 1000 people only - obviously). Then there's no risk in getting this thing made.
No idea how much something like this would cost, but even if it was $50k it'd leave a $75k profit.
Worth it, no? Just an idea... _________________ "Dumb dumb Cobe. Almost got in a fight. Almost got kicked off the island." |

I am not sure how all that went down when Ronn and FLF did the remake deal.
I bet you cannot even find the transfers from the 16mm original films.
I tried to get the masters from a wakeskate title before and I could not even get them to find the original masters. I was willing to cover all the production costs also.
I have heard of kickstarter but I doubt that we could get 1000 people to kick in that amount of money in our industry.
I love your passion for the sport SCBrips! _________________ Wakeskating
