|
|
I'm looking at this boat and am goign to test drive it on Wednesday but I was cautioned at ccfans.com that it might be worn out. Anyone know this boat or it's owner in Orlando? Do you know if it's been road hard a put away wet (bad), or road daily and properly stored & maintained (good)? It looks like it could be a great starter for me w/ tower, PP and plumbed ballast but I am afraid it was abused.
Any opinions are welcome, even if you don't have first hand experience.

Thats a pretty good *edit awesome* price considering those accessories, how about hours on the engine? And the shape of the vinyl? (The vinyl for me is not a huge issue, a few tears mean i don't have to as paranoid about my dog or friends climbing over it)

Baltfrog,
I thought the same thing but I'm scared the vinyl is completely cracked and peeling which indicates that it sat uncovered most of the time which means it was rained in most days down here in Florida which means the stringers are rotting. Hopefully it's just a bad pic making the engine cover look bad and everything is cool.
Everyone has me scared that I'm going to show up and a teenager is going to show me the boat in his parents back yard, uncovered and weighted down like crazy...

Test drove the orlando boat today. The structure, motor and tranny was all solid. The interior left alot to be desired as many suggested. It would be a good wake boat but not much fun for passengers or the ladies. Basically it won't work for me cuz my wife wouldn't ever want to come out in it, or maybe that makes it perfect...
Unless I can get a trade for my atv I'm still on the search.
One other thing, I love Orlando! Got to watch a set from Dallas during the test run and she's looking strong for the coming season.
Sorry for messing up the lake for a min, if ur out there. I wasn't sure where the line was until I got to the other side of the lake.

Check for cracks in the stringers that run along the entire length of the boat. Check where the engine mounts and make sure they are not rotten. If the boat was left uncovered it might have a bunch of soft spots in the floor. Some softspots are easy to fix but the stringers are the key. If those are soft then those are harder to replace.

I think I've got a deal on this baby here. Pending an inspection, lake test and compression test I think this is the one and she's completely ready for wakeboarding with a tower, perfect pass and plumbed ballast system. A good wet sanding and a bimini and it's everything I've been wanting as long as she's not too salty.
