oh yeah - I've been behind an Axis a couple different times - loved it, also surfed behind it too - that was great too. the group that I rode with had the boat absolutely loaded with ballast - nice ramps on the wakes.
ridden most all the major inboards except MC - the Axis is a respectable wake, you won't be disappointed.
SANTE I noticed you had to pull a bit faster to clean up the wash
Moomba's you could get a decent wake but you really had to load up the ballast - did't like the amount of freeboard on the moombas -
wakesetter - that wedge really makes the wake tunable
throw up some pics - axis has some sick color schemes

| Flyhigh do you have pics to share of your new Axis? I want to get one myself...Their price point seems to be better than some of the other big names, it will be good to hear comparisons to other wakes.

I love my 2011 Vandal. The wake is the best I've ever ridden. I've owned 230's, an older Xstar, VLX, etc. I've ridden behind many many other wakeboats. To me, the A22 produces one of the absolute largest, most consistent, wakes in the industry. Also, the A22 produces a wake that is extremely scalable - meaning you can let groms or beginners ride with no ballast at like 17 mph at like 50 ft, and the wake is not all wash. Great purchase.
BTW, my '11 is for sale cheap if anyone's looking for a loaded vandal edition with the big motor... I need to get my '12 on order!

Vdry happy with our 2010 Axis. The wake is great ... Far exceeds my skill level, and is much cleaner than most of the other boats that I've experienced. Doesn't require a ton of additional weight to make a ice weight like the x-star and some others do. The interior has been holding up very well and very happy with the quality.
If I had one complaint, it would be the surf wake, but I understand the new platform cleans it up.

Is the a22 hull based on some version of an older malibu hull or is it an original out of curiosity?
Cheers

the new platform is different. rounded edge and I think it is filled in on the bottom. they added in some fiberglass to remove any lips under the bottom of the platform from what I saw on the Axis boats we have on the lot.

OneMoreSet, it's a unique hull, but it is similar to other Malibu designs as you might expect. It is however, different and only on the Axis platform.
As I mentioned, the new platform cleans up the surf wake (I hear quite nicely), unfortunately I can't justify buying a new boat since I hardly surf.

I've ridden dang near every boat out there and the a22 wake is one of my favorites, if not my favorite wake of all time. Super consistent, great shape and transition. hell even the stock wake is awesome.
Our wake team has an 09 a22, rode it with the stock wake for a while until we were able upgrade to the plug and play and throw some additional sacks in there. Like chattwake mentioned it the wake caters to every skill level, and I love axis's approach to the overall boating experience. no touch screen, dvd player, power tower BS. just a great wake, the most solid tower of any boat i have ever experienced, a stereo and good vibes. you will love it.
