stands for northern california downhill skateboard association, now thats a mouthful. It was very active back in the day but I think its slowed down. Met some good people on there and got some great info about decks/trucks/wheels/bearings/bushings you name it. I will have to get a pic of my first longboard which is a sector 9 46' concave pintail i sanded off the corporate design and had my friend hand paint it. The board is about 12 years old at this point.

what kind of boat are you riding behind? typical speeds are from 21-23 mph but it all depends on the boat...

Agreed. That being said if you feel like higher speeds scare you then ride at your slower speeds. At some point when you start working on wake to wake jumps, the slower speed will make it impossible to clear if you have an average line length (65-70').

IMO 21-23 mph is average speed for 65-70' lines. I looked up some specs on the saltare and since it has a narrower beam than my LSV which I can baseline against, I'd assume your wake is probably a bit narrower than mine. This means you could get away with slightly lower speeds. I personally have to ride 23.6 at 70' but I toss a fair amount of ballast in (2.2k + wedge).

Bottom line, ride whats comfortable. When you notice your speed is screwing you up on your tricks you need to increase the speed and get used to it, or stop trying those tricks. One nice thing about faster speeds is when you land it feels more legitimate. At the speeds your riding the water is so soft your board tends to stick and the water tries to swallow you up when you land.

Wakeboarder3780, Well thats my goal this summer is to learn wake to wake jump, so I do need to go a little faster...higher speeds can be intimidating, but I can get there. As for faceplants, Ive done about 6 in a week so Im pretty used to them. Razz Had my fair share of massive headaches and jaw aches.
