That's awesome! I wonder how the dolphins treated him after he went down. Dolphins are obviously really smart but I doubt they are all "really nice pets like flipper".

There was something on nat geo or some similar tv channel last week about 'the real lives of dolphins. How they fight all the time and even kill each other, I remember the narrator saying 'besides man, they are the only mammal that will kill for reasons other than food or defense.'

They do fight all the time, which allows researchers to tell them apart. Their dorsal fins are all different, so researchers take pictures of them then go back later and identify them.

As for the fighting, it's pretty rough, but they are also animals that have sex for pleasure. Sometimes 4-5 times a day. They are very social creatures like other cetaceans.
