|
|
I've started my search for my new boat and I have narrowed down a few of my search criteria, now I need a little help finding the right boat. I want a 1998-2005 v-drive boat for around 20K that will primarily be used for wakeboarding or lounging (no skiing or tubing). I'd preffer it be set up with tower and built in ballast but I can always add these if I find a great deal. My first choice and I think everyone's recomendation would be a Super Air Nautique and luckily there are a few available in my price range but i am looking for other recomendations that might save me a few $$ and still have a great boat. I'm a descent rider but some of my friends are pro level and I want them to feel like they want to ride behind my boat also with out trying to be a poser and breaking the bank on a new ride. Any suggestions are appreciated but below is my short list (don't think I really want a Centurion or Tige but maybe you can enlighten me). If you have a boat for sale in the south east let me know.
SAN
Malibu VLX
X-star
Mastercraft Maristar
Supra Launch SSV
Centurion Elite V
Tige 2100 V

I'd drop the Centurion and the Tige of the list, mediocre wakes at best. The sanger is nice but they are few and far between on the east coast.
The rest you can't really go wrong with. How many people do you usually have out on the boat when you're riding? |

Get in touch with Jim over at Bay Area Water Sports. He's a good guy, and helped me get in my newish boat. I picked up a 2006 X1 with MCX / PP / Ballast / Bimini / JL Stereo / trailer for $25k out the door. _________________ stay clean, like me

Of course the Super Sport, forgot to type that one out from my list.
The Sanger is to rare over here for me to worry about.
Thanks PimpinD2, I'll give Jim a call. I've seen Bay Area's nice inventory but wasn't sure they could get down to my price range. How ya liking that X1, I hear the wake is sick? |

Pro Star 205 and Pro Star 205V Would also be decent search terms to use as they are fundamentally X1's/Older X stars but with different stickers.
When you say Maristar which ones are you looking at? None are going to blow you away but I believe the Maristar 200 to be a fairly nice wake. I had a 98 here in the shop that I was impressed with. _________________ www.AxisBoats.co.uk | www.Malibu-Boats.co.uk |

Stang - Thanks for looking out, I've seen that one and it's pretty clean but the wife says no DD's unless it's under 10K.
Fly - I saw you boat a week or two ago, it looks like it's in great shape but I was really hoping for '02 or newer for a SAN. Can you hit me up and maybe send me some additional pics and then we can talk. |

| FLY, I might be able to get over to Seminole and check it out nextweekend. I'll give you a call next week if I can swing it. It might be a little out of my price range but we can talk about that after I check it out. |

that 99 Super Air is a pretty sweet setup, i picked up an 03 SANTE a couple of years ago for 25k, you might can find one of those for just a little more than your 20k budget, and unless you're paying cash a couple extra grand isn't going to affect the payment much, there is a Sanger for sale locally here in Jackson, MS, I can stop and ask about for you if you want, first one I have ever seen around here, pretty sure it is a v-drive _________________ Lithic, LLC, my biz

| Thanks slidin, I hear Sangers are great boats but I would rather more mechanical support locally. |
