What did you think? Commercial favorites?
I never thought the Giants would make it as far as they did and I rooted against them throughout the playoffs. I don't like the Giants, never have, and can't stand Eli.
None of the commercials really stuck out in my mind as really good or funny. I think that the legacy of "Superbowl Commercials" has raised the bar so high that maybe my expectations are too high. _________________

That said, the Giants D played a hell of a game. And that catch by Manningham was nuts. Easily on par with the Tyree catch a few years ago.
Commercials were so-so. Tax Act commercial with the kid peeing in the pool was pretty funny. Bud commercials wer zzzzzzzzz. Sorry I fell asleep thinking about them. Doritos commercials were funny too. _________________
While I like the message trying to be portrayed I was scratching my head over the roaring engines when part of the bailout agreement was not opposing new CAFE standards that virtually guarantee that these engines will whir and not roar. Maybe that's just me...
OH, and Ferris Bueller borrows a Ferrari California not a CRV. F!YOU HONDA! I mean there's a new Ferrari California out... OR hey Honda, you're advertising the new NSX, why not use Bueller for that... _________________ If I agreed with you we would both be wrong.
The Dorito's dog one was tops from what I remember. The Tax Act kid peeing in the pool was funny as well. Budweiser one's missed the mark, but I'm not sure how many other ideas they can do at this point. The Audi vampires one and the CRV one stuck in my head too, but I wasn't much on either of them.

Game was great. Anything to shut Patriot fans up.
VW/Star Wars commercials were the win for me. Several very good branding commercials: Bud Light platinum, new VW bug, Chrysler. _________________ WakeSurf and Wakesurfing News
the patriots losing is almost as good as if the colts had won. it was weird to see all those foreigners in our building. i spent some time downtown friday night, and it was crazy. i've never seen it packed like that.
disagree bigtime. thought it was one of the best ever.
Best ever puts in on par with Jackson in '93, Prince in 2008 and U2. The last song she performed was good, but that was it.
It was better than McCartney and Black Eye Peas, but no where near best ever. I'd be willing to upgrade from sucked to fair / middle of the road. _________________ Work SUX!
The legend is dead, the prince has turned back into a frog, and...well, use whatever other cliché you want.
A performance as bad as Tom Brady's tonight in Super Bowl XLVI deserves a lead just as lame.
Sorry, Tommy Boy, this one's on you. Your hideous performance led to the Giants' 21-17 Super Bowl title win. How embarrassing for your coach, your teammates, and your fans.
But especially for you, boy wonder. It was one thing when you led the game off with a safety, which surely put plenty of faith into the heart of Patriot Nation, but just when you have the game, just when you might be able to run off the clock, you huck the thing downfield. Yes, if Wes Welker catches that thing, you're in the clear, and fans will place the blame either way, but what happened to being safe in that situation? What happened to the Patriot Way and clock management?
What happened to you?
What an embarrassment for the Patriots organization and Bob Kraft. So now the Giants have taken Lombardi from you twice, and you haven't looked this bad in a playoff game since...well, two weeks ago against the Ravens. Maybe that moment will actually hit you as you're whittling down water slides in South America looking like Prince Valiant this spring. The Patriots haven't won a title in seven years, but even worse, they're now turning into the Buffalo Bills, with the Giants being their Cowboy daddy. That's not easy to swallow in a region where New York is regarded as highly as the menu at Beacon Hill Pub.
But, there you are, Tom. That's what you have become. Your legacy has been stamped, but you're turning your Joe Montana status into one of Jim Kelly. But, hey what you worry? There's that new mansion in the "Names" pages to deal with.
Yes, there were plenty of dropped passes to go around. Granted. But when you begin the game with such a boneheaded play, then proceed to make random mistakes, sorry, Tom, game is on you.
There was no fourth and 13 to blame Belichick for.
Welker was the closest thing to Asante, and the eeriness compared to the Tyree play will be discussed for decades to come.
Thanks for that too. Can't wait. Oh, look, another text coming in from 212...
Tom, it's not all your fault, but you're the poster boy, you had opportunities, and you failed to make them. Add to that your blunders, and it all becomes about you. You blew this Super Bowl. You denied your coach No. 4. You let down your teammates.
Eli and Peyton now have as many rings as you combined over the past five years. You haven't sniffed one in seven. How's that hit you?
Maybe it doesn't hit you as hard anymore, and maybe that's the problem.
The safety killed the Patriots. Killed them.
And there's nobody to blame but Tom Brady.
However hard it might be to swallow, the glory days are gone. Even Montana handed off to Mallett at some point, right?

seeing as how those are the only ones i can even remember, i'd say i'm comfortable w/ my original post. her performance specifically wasn't so awesome, but the overall show was badass, imo. mixing in lmfao, nikki minaj, mia and cee lo was great. the drumline was cool, the video/graphics/whateverthecorrectnameis were awesome, even the acrobatic eunuch on the tightrope was neat. every time you turned around, there was something else coming along that you didn't expect and i thought everything "worked" very well.
do wish i'd have seen mia w/ the middle finger and sayind "shlt." somehow missed that.
For some reason I really liked the weird commercial with the guy with the little head coming out of his back singing at the car dealership.
Kind of surprised a commercial as old as that fiat one made it. was hoping for more funny commercials.
The halftime show was far better than last year. Probably had something to do with them all lip synching. The "stuff" was more like "shhh" but didn't notice the middle finger.
I was hoping both teams would lose, unfortunately I couldn't get my wish.

DRAGON88, I'm not sure if you are just poking with a stick or really believe that, but whoever wrote that is an idiot. "The Patriot Way" most definitely includes Brady as a centerpiece, but it includes other things besides smart QB play in general like solid and opportunistic defense and above average special teams.
The defense didn't force any turnovers or give Brady any advantage in last night's game. The special teams didn't shorten the field for the offense. If Brady doesn't go on a record-tying completion streak on those two long touchdown drives, NE isn't even in the game.
Yes, Brady threw an interception (that was really more like a decent punt in the end) and made a bad play on the safety (no excuse for that). But I think that saying he cost them the game is really far out there. He was the only reason they were IN the game.
I'm not even a Patriots fan so I'm not homering him up here. Just think it is unfair for the Boston people to pin this game on Brady. The dropped passes on the final drive are a great illustration of the lack of support he got when he played well enough to for NE win that game. _________________

I've never understood why, when performers decide to lip synch, they don't take a half hour out of their day a week prior and record an imperfect, undoctored (but still really good) version of their song(s). I hate hearing studio quality, straight-off-the-album vocals in a live preformance. Live music is supposed to be a little raw and unpolished...people are okay with that. Hell, if you record a flawed version to lip synch to, they might not even know you are lip synching and like the performance that much more. But it's insulting to see some singer's lips moving to a totally perfect rendition complete with studio sounds that no human being can mimic. _________________ "I'm scared if I stop drinking all at once, the cumulative hangover will literally kill me."

Haha Agreed!!
I liked the M&M and the chevy end of the world commercials, but overall they werent the best. Expectations were higher...
As for the halftime show, I thought it was pretty good. First time I have ever seen/"heard" Madonna. For being older it wasnt bad. _________________ A little part of me dies inside every time I see an $80,000 Malibu Wakesetter pulling a tuber.
