| Geometry gives you the skills to measure things and describe things that can be measured (including things you can't measure with a ruler). I guess that's the point of it. It's pretty useful if you ever plan on designing or constructing anything. what are you trying to figure out? |

+1 Chad H
Proofs are the miserable part with geometry. The rest is cake. Wait til you get to Calc 2 - that sucks. Geo, trig, pre-cal - love all that. Calc 2 - hell no. |

Proofs suck. Geometry has practical applications, its just not used often.
Aubs - Calc 2 was cake. Differential Equations (the class, not just the small portion in Calc 2) was a killer. _________________ Work SUX! |

jjaszkow, I dont understand proofs at all. And coordinate geometry is very confusing.
goofyboy, I agree with you on the proofs.
Well I find algebra a piece of cake...can do it in mu sleep. _________________ A little part of me dies inside every time I see an $80,000 Malibu Wakesetter pulling a tuber. |

In my opinion, proofs are tedious, but aren't that horrible. Best to sit down with someone who gets them and work through a bunch together.
Differential geometry on the other hand.

See but Im stuck in a classroom with nobody that fully understands them. And teachers expect you to have it mastered because I am in the Pre-Advanced Placement or Honors if you will... I just hate geometry! Cant wait until algebra 2 next year! _________________ A little part of me dies inside every time I see an $80,000 Malibu Wakesetter pulling a tuber. |

PAP classes... HA! i had the same thing. You must be a sophmore. I made a B in PAP geometry and worked my butt off for it. It was horrible. Algebra 2 was cake. Stick with the AP route and place out of Cal 1 in college. _________________ Work SUX! |

Yeah I am a sophomore. Its horrible...Im floating on about a C average and it brought my gpa down a little bit. I rock at algebra. Do you recommend taking AP algebra 2?? _________________ A little part of me dies inside every time I see an $80,000 Malibu Wakesetter pulling a tuber. |

If you are planning on college, stick with AP all the way through so you have an opportunity to place out of Cal 1 and possibly Cal 2 in college. Those classes suck. _________________ Work SUX! |

OMG Differential Equations nearly killed me! Algebra, Geometry, Trig and calc were nothing in comparison. Have a minor in math now and can't remember much... but do know that algebra & geometry, for me at least, do have practical applications. |

Be nice. Aubs grew up nicely and graces us with beach pictures.
b_girl - i finished my math and have a minor as well. Took Dif Eq and Linear Algebra (matrices). Both were hell. _________________ Work SUX! |

wakechick13, definitely prefer algebra! Geometry isn't too bad though, once you get it. Do you have anyone that might be able to help you with it? Sometimes I find it's best to just sit down with someone and hash it out until you've got it... Would it be possible for you to see the teacher after class or something?
goofyboy, yeah, matrix algebra did kind of suck... but it was still tons easier than diff eq was.

Why do the teachers suck? Have you asked them for help, or are you assuming they won't?
I wish they let us use calculators in H.S. math clases. |

wakechick13, Buy a ti-89 and learn to use it. Read the instruction manual on sin cos and tan and know how to use them. If they let us use them in college I could get a "B" in Calculus 2 because that calculator is so bad ass. I still use mine every day. _________________ There'll be two dates on your tombstone/ And all your friends will read 'em/ But all that's gonna matter is that little dash between 'em... |

are you not a sophomore? because it says right here that you're a sophomore:

if you don't mind people thinking you are ignorant, then by all means continue ignoring apostrophes. they really are an upper-class punctuation anyway. the working class hardly bothers with them. |
