|
|
Can anybody tell me anything about the 2012 Slingshot Keith Lyman board?
Here is the board http://www.buywake.com/catalog/detail/1234
I've never even had a Slingshot board before, so I'm a little hesitant on buying one of their boards too.
I'm very interested in picking up this board before this season, so any info at all will be greatly appreciated. |

Just about everything I've ever tried/owned from Slingshot has been top notch, but I don't know anyone who's riding the Lyman yet. Check WakeWorld. There was a thread about it with some riding impressions there. _________________ rally to the wake |

I posted a review thread on here, should be on the first page of general wake.
I'm riding this board right now, not much to say besides that it's a solid board that holds it's edge, pops hard and consistent and lands soft. super fast and fun, gonna be awhile before i ride a different board. _________________

The Lyman comes with a black bottom, wood bottom was only on the proto boards. Only the ballistic series will have the wood bottom. I think she got mine from evo gear _________________

| Alright, one more question. Can I put new Ronix bindings on a Slingshot board? |

| Yeah I've got Ronix Franks on my '11 Slingshot Hooke. Just use Slingshot's sliding screws and nuts but use the little claws and plastic washers that came with your bindings. |

| Just bought em for myself for Xmas so haven't rode em yet, but I've ridden a few pairs of Ones and the Franks feel almost identical on my feet. The intuition liners are the key |

I would recommend putting bottomless Slingshot boots on it, I have 2009 d3s and am going to get 2012 rads because you don't get as much feel and honestly the 2012 Slingshot line up is the most solid line up I've ever seen from any manufacturer. Look at rads and shred towns _________________

| I'm a huge slingshot fan myself but haven't seen the new lineup of boots, the main reason I didn't give the rads a shot was the lack of a local shop to try them on. Let me know how you like your SS boots when you get em Logan |

Yes the Shredtown boots will fit on any other brand's boards.
If you check out Slingshot's vimeo they have videos of all the new gear tech info and more.

Haha man it'll be a few months before I get to ride it. Too cold here. I still don't have any bindings yet, but I should be getting those soon. I will post up a picture as soon as I get them on the board. |

| I was looking at slingshots new lineup today. all of their boards seem to be pretty fast even with their aggressive 3-stage rockers. Can anyone shine some light on this? |

They do have some continuous stuff as well. IMO Slingshot has the best line up out of all the manufacturers right now. I really don't think any other line touches theirs right now. If you are in the market for a board, boots or both then Slingshot should be the first brand you look at. _________________

Just a quick note on the board as my boyfriend has the Slingshot Lyman - it's a great flat water/cable board, but does not ride well in the chop. You literally feel every single bump, ripple and wave. He's got the RAD boots to go with it. It's a perfect flat water board, but when it chops up, he changes back to his LF Lyman. _________________ Suck it up and get hardcore! |

i really disagree with this, i prefer this board in rough water because i don't feel a thing on it. to each their own i guess. _________________

That's interesting. The boyf refuses to ride his in chop as he feels everything and it gives a really uncomfortable ride. But as you say, everyone is different. _________________ Suck it up and get hardcore! |
