Anyway, over here in the UK Jobe boards are used at many of the wake schools and they have a great reputation Smile

Glad to hear you're a fan of the company. I've been hitting their gear pretty hard, think I've bought and ridden 5 or 6 of their boards? I also like that their boards are made here and I definitely feel they are quality.

Just cool to hear someone who's in the know likes the company as well. I'm seeing more and more slingshots around these days. I might even dare call them popular now where as maybe 3 years ago people were kind of afraid to try them.

Ya man, they're definitely becoming more mainstream. Pretty soon we'll have cable parks full of Slingshot hipsters telling everyone about how they were riding Slingshot before it was cool Laughing

I'm loving my 2010 Recoil, but I must say that I've been less impressed with their newer products that my friends and I have tried. The fast track has had more than its fair share of problems, and in many cases, it still does.

The newer boards are also quite a lot stiffer than my 2010, and they just aren't as fun to ride as a result. Even the ones that aren't in the stiffer ballistic line feel more like hybrids than true flex boards nowadays. When I hit a big wake on a 2012 Recoil, it doesn't feel any more poppy than my 2010. It just doesn't seem like the extra stiffness is worth the sacrifice in pressability/rebound feel.

I do want the new Shredtown boots though. Those babies are dope!

I've always liked LF and Ronix. My first board was an Angel and I loved it, super sweet and loose ride. Then I got a Hyperlite Blur - worst board I ever had! Just horrible. Then tried the Ronix FHL and have never looked back!

The other half loves his Lyman boards, so it's LH and Slingshot for him.

I would agree with this sentiment. I am also sad the newer boards are less flexy. The only thing I can think of to blame is the fast track system because thats the only change I know about from 2010 to 2011.

When I say "blame" I mean blame for the loss of flex. Don't get me wrong I actually dig the fast track system. I've never had a problem with it where as apparently a few folks said they had either slipping issues, which I've never had nor have any of my buddies (who ride other bindings as well). Without trying to ruffle any feathers I'm still of the opinion that if you use the system correctly it shouldn't slip (ie don't use the plastic washers if you cant get at LEAST 3 or 4 threads *and* get a #3 phillips and wrench them down - or ditch the given slugs and just use an appropriate lock nut and actual wrench if you have problems).

That being said I'd rather have my playful flex over the fast track system. Perhaps we should start a petition with slingshot to bring back the flex. I'd sign Wink
