|
|
Hey guys I've been riding cable for almost a year now here in the Philippines and I wanna upgrade my bindings (Hyperlite sprint 2009) to either the Ronix frank boots 2012 399$ or the Ronix One 2011 for 322$.
I wear 8.5 US in my rubber shoes
If I get Ronix One 2011 should I get size 8 or size 9?
(The Ronix Frank boot has size 8-9 so I think I wouldnt have a problem with the size)
What do you think should I get?
Thanks in advance! |

The 2012 Franks are really colorful. They actually look great in person. I really like the coloring on them.
I would suggest that you try on the bindings for fit. The flex on the frank and one bindings are similar. The frank being a little more flex than the one bindings.
I wear a 11 in the one bindings and I normally wear a 10.5 shoe. I am a little more on the 10.5 to 11 for shoe size. _________________ Wakeskating

| Hey Ed or anyone else with direct knowledge, I've ridden the 10 and 11 one boots my buds have and loved em. I've got a ss Hooke and need new boots for next year and the deal on 11 franks at boardstop peaks my interest. Are the franks as comfy and easy to put on/off as the ones? Weight? Basically should i just get ones or are the franks pretty similar? Also the black and green would look sick on my board.. |

| FWIW - I tried on some Franks (but didn't ride), and ended up buying some Ones a few weeks later, both size 10. In a dry try-on, both were excellent, and I couldn't tell a difference between the two. I only got the Ones because I found a pair that were almost new for $200. Otherwise, I would've bought the Franks. |

Well the franks for 2011 only came in a 11-12 size and those are sold out. Same for the size 10. I tried to get a pair of 11-12 from other shops for a customer and all my sources were sold out. If you are a 10.5 to 11 I would say to try on the ones. The 11-12 might have some play in them depending on your actual size. I think for 2012 they changed up the sizing on the franks. Ronix went with the same sizing on the franks as the other pro boots _________________ Wakeskating

I was actually speaking of year models but I would have needed an 11 so that answered my question. Guess I'll just be getting the wife to put some ones under the tree for me this year |

So I don't want to start a war or anything, just purely curious about these bindings as well.
I own a pair of OT frank's circa 2009 or so. I will say that pair of bindings by *far* has the flexiest baseplate i've ever seen. If I lift the "heel handle loop" i can literally bend the bindings right off the board a fair amount.
I've heard people rave about the cells / ones.
Are the cells / ones built off the same platform? I honestly was very disappointed with the amount of flex but it was for a community board so honestly it didn't bother me too much.
Only reason I ask is I will probably try out ronix for my next pair of boots and i hear the franks have more side to side flex (which i like for poking out grabs) but I hate it when bindings have a lot of heel lift (mostly a mental thing). _________________ Today is a chance to become a greater person than the person we were the day before. |

Well, I found a pair of 2011 Franks in size 11-12 for 240 and pulled the trigger. Funny thing is the only reason I went with the Franks instead of the ones was for the color. So I hope you guys were right about the Franks feeling just as comfy as the ones because I've never seen or tried a pair of Franks in person |
