| Is it a good idea to start trying to ride switch right when you're learning? I ride goofy, and there's not much I can do right now. I have no problems edging, but I can't make a wake to wake jump yet. I'm getting some height off the wake, but nothing much. Should I work on wake to wake, and then start focusing on riding switch? I pulled off a surface 180 the other day, but couldn't hold on to it. |

For sure! I love riding switch, it's way fun to be able to do back to back moves regular and switch. It also helps you get better control of the board as well as help you learn other moves. For instance, a switch hs bs 3 is just the last part of a ts fs 540, no problem! |

Riding switch will help you, and some people say that its better to learn how to do tricks both switch and regular before you move onto something else. Im not one of those people, but I do recommend that you become at least comfortable riding switch in order to help you with stuff where your landing switch like 180s and 540s. _________________ "I knew those girls were pros, but don't tell Turtle, it'll break his heart." - Drama, Entourage |

| YES, definitely learn early. I think my riding has progressed the slowest of anyone I know because I never worked on riding switch. Definitely take time to learn all the fundamentals, it might seem boring at first but your riding will progress tons faster. This whole season I will be working on all the "little" things. I should have done that from the beginning. |

Yeah, learning switch is pretty crucial. It will just help you overall, especially with the basic stuff like 180's which can be the foundation for a good number of your tricks. Good luck with it. _________________ Pulling fat people out of the water is fun...I get to use my engine. |

I prefer learning things switch before moving on. I like to be able to do all the moves switch. It just gives variation and it adds so much more.
Hey, Nathan, what the hell is up with that?? if you have an injury, dont ride. That is prolly the dumbest thing I've ever heard. My buddy Bubb Rubb up his hands and wrists at the beginning of this season and he kept on riding. Now he's really Bubb Rubb up and he cant ride for the rest of the season. He has so much physical therapy. Anybody reading this, dont ride when your body is Bubb Rubb! _________________ I'm telling you its jobs,

well, I guess if your body is that messed up, then you shouldn't be wakeboarding now should ya? But if you can bear it, I'd go out there and tough it out. Then again, maybe that's just me... _________________ The consciousness of self is the greatest hindrance to the proper execution of all physical action.

I like to get up switch and then switch back to my normal stance. Like when the boat is pulling me out of the water I like to butterslide for about 5 seconds then I take into goofy stance. Ride for about 5 more seconds and then I got into regular stance and thats the end of me riding switch. I feel pretty good riding switch.. last year when I ollied 180 and landed switch I couldnt get back doing an ollie 180 switch I had to do a surface 180.... _________________ Ride the wake hard and go home wet. |

| Ive noticed that letting go with your back hand makes riding switch much easier. I can ollie to switch, but trying trying to ollie back to normal is tough for me too. |

Nuthing wrong with landing one handed as long as you hold on.
I can ollie switch sometimes and get it around, but i have to push really hard on my back foot and concentrate on the weight transfer, so that i dont face-plant.
I think doing a half-cab HS 180 is easier than the ollie though. |

Big I think vip *meant* wake to wake when he said half cab, but I could be giving him too much credit
As far as switch goes - yeah its cool when people can throw down switch. But Ill keep learning mobes while you guys work on your switch back rolls.
I guess it just comes down to preference. And Im sure the c0re riders will think whatever. But when you ride on a time frame, Id much rather invest what time I have on the water on progressing my regular riding. _________________ http://www.wakepics.com/view_single.php?medid=16993 one of few trips i got to make to the lake this year |

Yes thats wat i meant fauker, but i dont see it the same way as BigTimer, to me a half cab is a switch 180 off the wake, a switch ollie is well a switch ollie _________________
