This pipe at hydrous looks really cool. I see big things for Hydrous.

I haven't been out there yet. Only been open for a couple weeks, almost went Sunday.

Definitely want to try the pipe, although I suck at them big time on the snowboard.

That looks super fun and not very intimidating. As a brand new rail rider, I'd love to give it a shot!

This is the 2nd quarterpipe Ive seen and they both were the same in that you have to ollie onto it. Why do they not just have it like a normal kicker where you ride onto it right from the water? That seems so much more natural and easy to charge into. How awkward would it be if snowboard/skateboard halfpipes had a 1 ft ollie at the beginning. What am I missing?

LFADAM, I think it has more to do with coming off the QP more than going up it. As with several rail designs, if it were flush with the water, your board would want to submarine when the transition meets back up with the water. If you notice a lot of the mellow sliders may be ride on one end, but be raised on the other, same reasoning. It def makes a difference.
