It's really interesting to me. Slingshot is definitely not the first company to try something like that. Gator boards did something like it a LONG time back, hyperlite tried it (it's only on a couple of boards), and I think there was one more company earlier on. Nobody's seemed to be a fan of it so far, not really sure why it's being touted as "new" tech.

I heard they had problems with the 2011's... fixed for 2012...

Rode it pretty hard on sunday and mine (Ronix cells) didnt budge... but then again, I swapped out the toggle bolts for Stainless lock nuts and washers... so I was able to tighten them down pretty good.

I got my hands on a 2012 Recoil yesterday and went out to ride it as fast as I could. I loved it. That thing had great pop and didnt seem as slow as 3-stages usually are. It seems stiffer than my 2011 reflex which saddened me a little because I was struggling with holding out manuals where before I never had an issue - but for the pop I got, I'm way over it.

As far as fast track slipping - I've ridden 3 boards now with the fast track and never had a single slip. Not sure what's going wrong for you. I will say with the 2012 one thing that I think sucks for the fast track this year is they didn't put the hash marks on it. They did for the 2011s - whats up with that?

The hash marks were great, you could barely notice them and they were great for making sure you had an evenly spaced stance. Now I need to whip out the tape measure which sucks, but I'm over it.

The only problems I've heard of is a few people bending them on the 2011 models. Apparently they beefed it up on the 2012s I never had a problem with the 2011's so whatevs.

Hey layn, did you do any inverts on the board when you rode it?

I'll upload a sneak peek of the bottom of the board (top was shown at the surf expo - http://slingshotsports.com/2011/09/surf-expo-360/ do a bunch of ctrl f5's if the image doesnt load the first time then click drag on it to spin it around and zoom in. Recoil is the half wood grain with purple / black and 'recoil' written on it)

Wakeboarder3780, 100% agree on having the measurements on the slots... that was the first thing i noticed... having to use a tape to set your stance just shouldn’t be necessary...

Yea, funny you mention it... I landed 4 HS backrolls in a row... first time I ever linked that many together... And the board had a lot to do with it... I could feel the pop off the wake alot more with this board... made it easier to wait to start the rotation till I felt the pop... almost 2x the height on them as I did before just because I was waiting longer.

and nice poke on pic 2.

So it would be fair to say you were the first consumer to land a backroll and I was the first to land a tantrum? Woot Smile

How did you feel about the flex? did you notice less flex on your manuals or did you not notice anything? This would help me determine if it's just the 3-stage shape, or something new in the 2012s

Thanks for the props on the tail Very Happy

TheHebrewHammer, i know i'm digging up an old post but out of curiosity did you have the washer under the mount plate or between the top of the mount plate and the slingshot mount screw when the boots slid out?

I don't remember. It was like two months ago.
