I just got a new camera that does HD and have been coming close to crow mobes so this is the result of that from the cable park yesterday. First is a scarecrow, then a crow mobe attempt. Any tips are welcome but I think I just really need to focus on hanging on and committing to the blind landing and I've got it.

(sorry for the long-distance shooting, the girlfriend didn't really use the camera zoom much Cool )

The scarecrow is a super easy trick! I've never done it on cable, but I can offer a few boat tips that are probably applicable to cable scarecrows as well.

-pop up nice and strong and pause before throwing the trick - don't throw it off the top of the wake

-throw your body into the rotation to get the board around rather than staying stiff and using just the line tension - lead with your upper body by dipping your shoulder in the direction of the flip and your lower body will follow

-keep the handle nice and low at your chest rather than bringing it over your head like an ole spin

-flip under and not just around - a lot of people do a crow like an ole off axis spin, rather than an invert, and it looks worse in my opinion - it's also harder to land this way

-remember that the scarecrow is a flip and a spin at the same time, not a flip and then a spin or vice versa - you should rotate diagonally

-you don't need as much speed, height, or line tension to do this trick as you might think - once you figure out how to initiate the rotation, it will come around very quickly and easily - you might even have to slow things down to avoid overrotation

It's a REALLY natural feeling motion off of a kicker. Honestly, if you're edge in to the ramp is solid all you have to do is throw your weight forward a bit and the kicker does most of the work for you. all you have to worry about is getting the handle across your body and being ready to land on your switch heel edge.

My only tip would be to be very comfortable landing TS 180's. I learned scarecrows in a day and got them consistant pretty quick but i had a lot of confidence with my ts1's going in to it. In any case, just huck a few scarecrows and see what happens. I think I stuck my 4th or 5th one I ever tried!

Scarecrow = Frontroll frontside 180
Crow Mobe = Frontroll frontside 360
