Anyone have to go this route with a new boat they have purchased?
I'm up to five issues covered so far under warranty, one of them is a repeat occurrence in under 2 years.
Mold voids on hull repaired
Rear bench seat repaced due to seams tearing
Power Steering Cylinder failure
Spider Cracks due to poor waketower installation
Power steering cylinder x2
I never went after them for the blown speaker on maiden voyage or the small crack forming in the dash. I'm to the point of thinking about going after the manufacturer since I really have no more time to use the boat before the warranty will run out in May 2012. All the issues have been fixed, but the power steering is a HEFTY cost if it fails out of warranty again. $700 part alone.
Only problem I fear, Glastron filed for Chapter 11 and was purchased by another company who has been honoring the warranties. _________________ 2010 Glastron GT 205XL ( Volvo 4.3L GL-J)

BOAT
Bust
Out
Another
Thousand or
Bend
Over
And
Take it
i feel that if all the problems have been addressed by the dealer (authorized glastron/volvo dealer service facility) then their is not much you can do really. the time and energy you are going to put into it isnt going to be worth the outcome, especially if your trading it in on an axis. .02 |

Yea I know all the sayings, we've owned boats in our family my whole life and haven't had any wheres near as many issues with our other boats as this brand new one.
I'm to the point of just getting it all fixed and having a dealer broker it for me, I will NEVER own an I/O ever again after this horrible experience. I knew from the Get-go I should have just bought the used 04 Supra, figured the brand new boat would be the way to go.. _________________ 2010 Glastron GT 205XL ( Volvo 4.3L GL-J)

3MileBayWaker,
Sounds like a real shame, sorry to hear your experience has been less than great.
Something to bare in mind though is that a couple of these items on the 'broken' list aren't anything to do with Glastron - such as power steering and audio problems.
Upholstery for sure and mould issues are things that should be taken care of.
Other than the Mould issues, I actually don't see a huge amount here that is above and beyond 'normal' boat issues.... _________________ www.AxisBoats.co.uk | www.Malibu-Boats.co.uk |

Its like going after a normal motor company...They might not manufacture everything in the unit they sell, but they are responsible for the warranties on it.
Past 2 glasstron's we've had... only things we had to do were normal tune -ups, and change the bellows once after 8 years. The quality really went down the stuff hole.
I was expecting something more for $32k than what I got. _________________ 2010 Glastron GT 205XL ( Volvo 4.3L GL-J)
