Gelcoat nicks - wetsand? Then polish?

I patched a couple of minor gelcoat nicks on my hull. I'm going to wetsand with 500 grit sandpaper. Then what should I do to polish it?? Hull is white.

I would go to a 1000 grit wet sand, then compound, polish and wax.

if your patches are decent i would start with a 600-700 first. that 500 is gonna scratch prettty good. then do as Andy says.
