I am new to buying boats like this and would like some help. I am calling tomorrow to find out more info but at first glance I think it might be over priced after some searching on Sanger V215.

What do you guys think?

Go with what you think it should be worth

Yeah, I think it may be a bit over-priced. Check out nada.com and see what it says. That should be a pretty good reference. Maybe $20-22k if it's in good condition.

I will have more info after I call today. The boat is about 90 miles from me and in Texas that is around the corner.

$24K would be reasonable. Doesn't look like there are a lot of accessories.

I called and the sales guy will not be in until Wednesday. What should I be looking for as far as accessories go? Thanks for the help.

NADA says ~$20k is average retail.

I'm showing ~$22,500 with the options I can see from the pictures (teak platform, AM/FM/CD, Tower, Racks). Suggested retail price >$35K. I can't find a V215 in my state for $20K. Or anywhere for that fact but if you know of one please send me the ad.

I spoke with the sales guy and the boat does not perfect pass, only one center ballast tank (500lbs), and the motor (merc 350) was replaced this year because it was not winterized. It was replaced with a rebuilt motor. I know in the car world that is a step down from a new crate motor. I am going to keep looking. Thanks for the help.

Older(98-01) v-210s go for 18.

20 would be a steal.

rebuilt motor=deal changer

I guess it depends on who rebuilt the motor. If outsourced and that shop has a good local reputation I would make an offer.

Jebdrup, if they weren't smart enough to winterize the motor, you've got to wonder what else they overlooked...

I am going to keep looking. I found a nice 2005 MC X2 low hours loaded for $34,000.

Thanks for help.

Jebdrup, FWIW, I've spent LOTS of time in both boats (V215 and X2). If your crew is small (3-5 people) the X2 is great. Any more than that, and I'd look for something bigger (like the V215 or similar).

Thanks for the info...I going to keep looking for a Sanger V215. I thought the X2 might be to small.

Jebdrup, it's a tradeoff. It throws an absolutely awesome wake, much more vertical than the V215. That isn't to say the V215 doesn't lay down a sweet wake, it's just more rampy.

I just wanted to note that the X2 can and will feel cramped with more than just a couple of friends along. I've been on an X2 with 8 others and it was sardine like. I've been on a V215 with the same number, and while not spacious, it was way more comfortable. Now, put 12 on the V215 and its pretty much crammed...
