Hi,
I have a 2004 CWB Absolute Platinum Pro board fitted with Nice PRS1 bindings, which has been a fantastic board. It’s kept in an Animal padded wakeboard bag and has probably been used less than 10 times in total. The board is as new, but some of the stainless on the fins and bindings have lost their shine from the saltwater, but it’s just cosmetic. Never jumped or used on rails or ramps. It’s always kept in my house. I think I still have the original manuals and warranty paperwork that came with it as I bought it all new. As I’ve now sold my boat, I tend to now go on watersports holidays and use the resorts ski boats instead. Much warmer than the UK!!!
I may not sell it, but as it’s not getting any use, and it’s kind of in the way in my house, I may well do. What do you guys think it’s worth roughly? I seem to remember it being around £1,000 in the UK when I bought it!!
I understand it’s a high end pro board, but not really got an idea of its value. I’d appreciate any input.
Thanks,
Dan |

Older used boards really don't have much value at all. I'm sure you could get some $$ for it if you tried, but I can't imagine it's going to be much. Last years boards go on clearance these days for like 50% off. If I'm going to try and get a board on the cheap, I'll just get 1 year old stuff and pay 1/2 price. Costco even has the body glove boards for like $150 that are clearly old HL molds/boot designs.
I'd toss them up on craigslist or your local classifieds for maybe $150 to see if you get any bites. In trying to sell some of my old gear a couple years ago I found it was hard to sell and even then shipping costs kill the incentive to buy/sell. |

Thanks for your input. I know what you mean, I work for a big boat retailer in the UK and we are Connelly/CWB dealers. We don't do much business with them (mostly a RIB and fishing boat dealership) but do sometimes have last years stock in. Thought it might be worth a bit more than $150 though!
For that money I'll probably keep it in the loft for when I have a free boat at work I can borrow! Not really worth selling I guess. |

I bet you could squeeze $200 out of it if they are both in good condition. A lot of people out there that don't really know or care about the difference between old and new wakeboard tech, and would think $200 bucks is ok.
In reality though, $200 might make a better starting offer to help you see what people throw at you from there, and maybe you have to settle for like $150-$175 in the end. _________________ Keep Austin Weird |
