Nauty, I'm good for getting that ding in the gelcoat fixed (as it was my fault). The offer I made the day it happened still stands. |

-No shoes
-Help wipe down the boat
-no booze
-no snacks that will leave a stain
-Stereo controls and music is at the discretion of the captain, however the person riding gets to listen to their music, yes even a little Justin if that's what they want... I have girls what can i say.
- I think the number one rule is to have fun, if you want to complain, your cold, your wet, your what ever please don't come back. Hanging on the boat is suppose to be fun, if your not having fun please stay home!
oh and bikini tops are optional, although I don't have much luck with that rule _________________ Don't do anything rash.....and don't do anything to get a rash... |

I'm liking some of these rules..gonna have to add them to my list... here's mine.
My boat runs on gas, not thanks. Pitch in some money, girls who show tits can ride free once.
Yes my boat says I can fit 9 riders, no more than 5 (rarely 6) including myself, no you can't bring a tag a long unless you ask. They will be left behind.
NO shoes, flip flops only and must be taken off prior to entry.
ONE cooler besides the built in one, no I will not make exceptions as there is only so much space.
NO smoking, if were anchored at the sand bar you can do it off my boat.
No Doritos, Cheetos, messy chips, chocolate, kool-aid, grape soda, etc.
If you wish to bring food, cold cuts, sandwiches, veggie sticks, power-bars are welcomed. We'll hit up the on lake restaurant if we get hungry.
Take a deuce before leaving shore, I will not return to the launch for your # 2 bowl movement an hour later.
Don't bring any bad Chi on my boat, if your going to be miserable then stay home.
Don't touch my STEREO unless I direct you to.
If you bring your girl friend, NO PDA!!! I don't with mine, no one wants to feel like a 3rd or 4th wheel who are single.
If you get cold easily, bring a hoody on cloudy days because if you start being pissy I won't let you back on next time because you were annoying.
No useless riders, your here to wakeboard and have a good time.
No glass bottles, rinse your cans out when finished.
Pack it in, pack it out. Don't leave your trash on my boat.
NO you can't drive my boat unless you own one yourself, and have a NYS boating license.
NO TUBING - unless its a windy day and no glassy cheddar is avail.
If you wakeboard, you know the inherent risks. You cannot sue me for your own stupidity.
Stow your towels, they can, have, and will fly out. No I will not turn around to fetch it, they sink like rocks when wet.
I have my own personal board, no you cannot ride it. The community board is open to anyone.
Thats just a few of my own... _________________ 2010 Glastron GT 205XL ( Volvo 4.3L GL-J)

Are the people you invite out on your boat so disrespectful of you and your property that you need this many rules? _________________ If I agreed with you we would both be wrong. |

Seriously. I've never had rules on my boat, nor am I anal about what people do. I just try to keep good friends. Everyone gets a day or two audition. Walk around the cushions with shoes on, drink our beer but bring none of your own, ride for an hour when there's people waiting, don't offer to help clean-up, hit on one of the guy's girlfriends, invite yourself for next time, etc...then don't expect future invitations. Problem solved. Maybe I've just been lucky, but most of my friends have been gracious and respectful.
And I don't ask for money, so if you're going to take advantage of a friend's overtrusting passiveness and not contribute, then I don't want you around anyway. It's worth $20 to me to figure out what kind of person you are. _________________ "I'm scared if I stop drinking all at once, the cumulative hangover will literally kill me." |

I'm anal about a lot of things, most of that is just common courtesy. A lot of them are spoiled by mommy and daddy and have never taken care of what they have been given. So to them, if they drop chips or crumbs they think someone will clean it up for them. I on the other hand wasn't given everything, so a brand new boat I have to bust my ass for it something I am going to baby. One of my bench seats is already tearing at a seam but likely is being warrantied out.
But yes, I have some friends who lack common sense most times. _________________ 2010 Glastron GT 205XL ( Volvo 4.3L GL-J)

No , but I tell everyone the rules BEFORE they go out . Like I said before all my old boats and my 2007 LSV look showroom cond , and I plan on keeping it that way . We ride a very busy waterway , so you have to have rules ! I also HATE people who drink and drive ! I have had to many friends killed by people drinking ( on/off water ) We also boat in a DRY county ( NO drinking in that county ANYWHERE !!! ) Like I tell people
' My boat , my rules " if you do not like them, stay at home
I also agree about mommy and daddy buying $70-90 boats for thier kids , most of them trash them around us , I work for my boat , ( no mommy /daddy buying mine ) it cost ALOT !!!!! so I am going to keep it clean and have lots of rules ! but we still have FUN !!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

-One cooler other than the built in cooler, MAX
-Gas money at least every other time out, even if only $10
-Clean up after yourself
-I dont care what you have to eat/drink, but if you spill it you're staying behind to clean it up.
-no shoes on the vinyl
-Drive when I feel like relaxing _________________ 2007 Mobius LSV |

My rules are the same as most others, No shoes, no dogs (with exception of my own dog of coarse) Wipe down after every use, etc. Two rules that sound kinda crazy but will really help with your boats longevity are, Before I put the cover on I Always pop the cushions/seat out so you can get air under them and to keep seats from mildewing. Also when covered I keep A citronella candle in the floor (not lit of coarse) to keep bugs/spiders out. My other rule gets me made fun of the most, But it's my biggest!!! NO WATER IN THE BOAT!!! If you get in the water to swim/wake or what ever get a towel and dry off on the platform before you get in the boat. I just traded in my 93 ski ray last year on a new Malibu. My dad bought that ski ray brand new in 93 and because of those rules it looked damn near brand new when I traded it in last year!
Enjoy

-No Shoes
-No color drinks
-No messy snacks
-No bronzing sun tan lotions
-Drip dry in the rear of the boat
-Bring some beer or gas money.
I had one person come over (I live on the lake), ate my food, drank my beer, went on the boat, and when he got back, he had to go all the sudden, not offering anything or clean up. He wonders why he's doesn't get invited.
Another friend of a friend balked at the no shoe rule. I said, when we're at your house, going on your boat, you can make the rules. He then looked down, and took of his shoes.
I'm very particular about my stuff. I worked my ASS off to get it, so if you don't want to respect it, you don't go. |

Yeah of course...
However, there is a difference between standing on the swim platform for 10 seconds to let the major stream of water return to the lake, vs letting that major stream of water get into the vdrive compartment sides, which on a malibu is not self draining. (just pools in the rear where the swim platform brackets are). |

what about the PLUG?
drain out water and replace plug or leave it out when on the lift?
you don't want water left sitting in the boat/bilge |

I smoke, and most of my friends do... So of course I allow smoking. I encourage anyone smoking to do so while we are stopped and sit on the transom or hold the cig over the side the entire time. All butts go in a water bottle immediately when done. All other trash goes into a plastic bag stashed in a compartment immediately when done. Few things piss me off more than people throwing trash into the water.
Food is what it is, bring whatever but if you're eating anything messy sit on the transom over the platform and wash your hands before getting back in.
I wear shoes in the boat sometimes, but take them off as soon as we leave the dock or before I get in the boat if the ground was wet.
I hate it when people start climbing all over stuff, stepping on vinyl with shoes, or otherwise treating my boat like a jungle gym. I make this known when it happens.
Gas money would be nice but I rarely get it. I'm always hurting for a third so I can't be picky if I want to ride.
At the end of the day it's just a boat. I accept that for every time out I'll be spending a lot of time cleaning things up and whatnot when I put it away. It's it what it is, but the good times and memories are worth every penny and every bit of blood and sweat. |
Well stated, it's just a thing. If someone shows no respect towards my property they simply never go again. I think we end up hating certain things in life so much we sometimes become exactly what we hate. |
