Just found this board, wanted to say hi, my name is Ken, I started wakeboarding way back in the 90's on a Shredder I believe with the bungee bindings. I have had some boards over the years I just shake my head at, there was the shredder, the 8-ball, a Hyperlite Latitude 142, an Obrien Crow 13x (loved that board) an Obrien Swindle 139, and now a Ronix Vault 144.

I haven't ridden a lot on the past few years, my kids are getting old enough to be in the boat now, so I am really getting back into boarding. I am in the process of completing a DIY plyon and hope to add some ballast this year or next year. I have always ridden behind my dad's 93' Four Winns Horizon.

I'm still a novice in my mind, basic W2W jumps and grabs, consistent 180's, surface tricks. Been trying to learn some new variants like a blind 180 and ride switch a lot more this year. Just happy to be out on the water.

At 31 years old I am a little more cautious then I once was, but I ride with a helmet and knee brace as a precaution. Had a concussion once and a broken nose from a tantrum attempt gone wrong. I don't ever want to get too old to wakeboard, I figue if I keep doing it and trying to progress that will be good enough for me.

I'm 29. Bought a boat last year to learn how to wakeboard so I had a bridge between snowboard seasons. I grew up deep sea fishing with my pops so I already knew my way around a boat.

Unfortunately I spent most of my first year on the lakes just partying. This year I'm taking the sport a little more seriously and trying to progress. I'm definitely falling in love with it all, I'm just already burnt out riding behind an I/O. Sad

25 - I have a bummed knee from College Rugby but so far without a brace I seem to be doing ok progressing. I can't blow it out or I am out of a law enforcement job which I am pursuing. I tend to be a little more reserved than I was before my injury, or until I don't have to worry about not passing the academy.

I am 28. Been boarding since I was about 14 on a Hyperlite Revert 134. I than got a CWB Zane Pro board later on, and now have a Ronix Frontier.

I used to ride behind a 17 ft bow rider so I didn't progress to much. The last few years after getting a proper wake boat I have been trying inverts are more spins. Only get to do it in the summertime on weekends so my my season is already short.

24 (will be 25 in September). Been riding since I was 13 or so. I spent most of my time riding behind small boats definitely not made for wakeboarding so I took up wakeskating. I was wakeskate only for about 3 years until going to college where they had a decent wake boat, then I constantly swapped between the two.

In the past couple of years (since I moved to the Tampa area) I've taken up wakeboarding a lot more since I have a local cable park.

i am 44 started riding in 1991 with a skurfer by tony finn. we kept moving up in the size of boat we had to the point you really couldn't do water sports behind them. but in 2006 i sold my 36' carver sedan bridge and bought a 22' walk around that i had a tower built for and we are back in big time. my son is 8 and has been riding since he was 5 and loves it, i am layed up for the rest of this season due to back surgery, but hope to be hitting it hard next year.

32 and female. grandparents lived on lake until i was about 15 so i was a lake rat as a kid skiing and knee boarding. after being off the lake 15 years, my husband and i bought a 1986 ski nautique 2001 and a new slalom ski and a wakeboard. back on the lake every chance we get and loving every minute of it. This is my second summer wakeboarding. i'm not great but i've made enough progress that it is fun to ride. can ride switch, do surface 180, slides and small jumps. i have bad knees too....4 surgeries so far. right one has been reconstructed and has no lateral meniscus. my ortho just ordered me a custom brace that is great. fits perfectly and doesn't hinder movement. i learned on a cwb faze board and tried to do small jumps and my knees stayed sore and swollen. wasn't really worth the pain. this summer i bought a slingshot flex board and it absorbs so much of the impact. makes a world of difference. i teach middle school so i'm off for the summer which works great for wakeboarding!!

The nautique was the first thing we bought after we got married. I've wanted a ski boat since i was a kid. you don't have to get a ski boat that is super expensive to have a nice boat. first time i rode behind it, i nearly had my arms yanked off my body. was used to riding behind boats that you had to really put it to the floor to pull a skier up. let's just say we quickly learned that's not necessary with an inboard.

Our friends used to have a Malibu inboard with an extended pylon, loved riding behind that boat. I love my dad's boat too, jsut working on trying to make the wake a little bigger and seeing if my DIY pylon will suit my needs. I'll post up pictures hopefully this weekend.

29.. First Summer on a boat and on a wakeboard. I am a big MX guy, but crashed hard while racing and ended up with a compound femur fracture, 2 shattered wrists, tore acl and broken kneecap. 5 surgeries later, i decided to take a breather form MX and get a boat. Never had one, and had only been to the lake maybe 5-10 times ever.(I was always riding).

Snowboard alot, so wakeboarding was a perfect fit, just bought a new byerly and loving the wholse sport! nothing better than being on the lake with friends and family all day!

Only 37. Started in '95, took a break for a couple years (too busy to ride much), but picked it up again 3 years ago when I started my wakeboardschool in Costa Rica. Happy to say that old(ish) dogs can learn new tricks. Added the TS backroll and stuck my first Raley not too long ago. Not ready to take it easy yet!

Feel you on that..

21, hurt my knee two years ago on a 360.. after off and on knee pain over the years i talked my parents into finally getting an MRI. Showed a complex tear of my meniscus and a very thin/stretched ACL. Likely gonna need reconstructive surgery this winter..

Only been wakeboarding three times all summer. I graduate next spring.. very sad thinking about how little I've been wakeboarding and how it might be even less next summer Sad

28 here. Been riding since I was 12. Fell out of it for a few years during college trying to figure out who to be/what to do. Started riding again 3 years ago and got hooked up with some good riders that help push each other.

I'm a lucky bastard because my parents bought an 05 X-Star out of nowhere, my buddy I ride with every week has an 07 VLX, another buddy who we ride with occassionally has an 07 X-Star and another guy who we ride with every now and then has an 08 LSV.

Still trying to learn new stuff, but most days it's just trying to land all the stuff I can land/used to be able to land.
