For an ollie, cut out hard on your heelside, once you have some good speed, rock your weight from the front foot to your back, then lift your front leg and jump off your back foot where the tail of the board launches you out of the water. When you first start make sure to lean back, people have a tendency to do nose dives on them.
For a kicker, take a cut away from center as your approaching the kicker. If you try to ride straight onto it, the rope is pulling you toward the middle, and off the side of the kicker. You want your lateral momentum to keep you straight on the kicker and not get pulled off the side. Take a 45 degree angle cut into the kicker, that will keep you straight. Also the ascension is quick when you're on then kicker. Be prepared for an abrupt lift, and keep your knees bent.
Once you know those concepts, it's just practice. Have fun man! _________________ You have just entered the twilight zone. |

Totally agree with Wakebrad. Pretty solid advice. I tried it out and it worked quite well. |

jbcs16, a kicker is essentially a ramp to hit that is anchored in the water...most of the time I think of a kicker as one that has a slight curve upwards to it.
Once you get used to it, the faster you cut into the kicker, the faster you'll hit it, thus propelling you generally higher and farther. |

Only thing to add is make sure to build your speed then flatten out completely before initiating the ollie. Don't try to ollie while on edge. Everyone needs to be able to ollie. I love 'em!
