Hey everyone, I just moved to Austin from northern Indiana a couple months ago, and am itching to find some people to ride with! I had a boat on a lake up there, so I'm able to drive, and throw in gas money of course.

If anyone has room for another let me know!

You don't want to wakeboard on lake travis unless you are up pretty early..the lake looks more like an ocean by 10 or 11.

Lake Austin or the perd are where you'll find the best water but on the weekends Lake Austin suffers from all the boats and pretty bad bounce back.

Shoot me a pm and if I'm going to the perd that day I'll shoot you a reply...

Do you think there would be anyone in Devils Cove on a late friday afternoon? Or is the party only on Sat & Sun?

yea, people get out to devil's cove pretty early and i think it's a no wake zone (don't go on travis much) but it's a fun place to drop anchor and hang out!

the perd is the perdenales river - http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&client=ubuntu&hs=fgN&pwst=1&channel=cs&q=pedernales+river&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=wl

not a river. it's a dammed up lake sitting between mansfield dam and tom miller dam.

awesome lake to ride on during the week and early mornings!

That looks like a really nice spot. Any chance you'll be riding on friday evening? My plane lands at 1:00 on friday and I am buying a truck then eventually driving back to Cincinnati. I should be finished with the truck purchase by 330 at the latest I hope. So I have the rest of the night to check out the city or the lake or whatever.

If anyone is looking for a ride in Austin I pretty much always have room for 1 or 2. We generally either go out on Lake Austin or the Perd. If the water level on Travis doesn't come up I doubt we see much of the Perd this year.
Anyway, hit me up at shanelafferty@me.com if you need a pull. I'll let you know when we are going out.

Sounds good, I'll probably hit you up after the Easter weekend! Do the lakes stay pretty busy in the mornings/evenings, or is it fairly easy to find decent water?

On the weekends, you can get good water up until noon or so. After that you have to fight for it and if you do find good water, it doesn't last long. If Travis wasn't so low, the Perd is almost always good and by far my favorite spot. I'm not going back until the water level is up though. I just got my prop back from being repaired due to the low water.
