according to a wakeboard size chart i found it said that someone who is 120lbs should have a board that is 130-131. Seems kind of small to me. right now im on a 136 but didnt really like the 136 so getting a smaller board. So should i go with a 130-131 or maybe something a little bigger like a 134? what do you guys think, also which type of rocker would be the best for tricks and getting air? hows the hybrid? right now ive been using a 3 stage rocker. which is your favorite im also 5'5'' and 16 years old so I want a board that will last me a while
I just started wakeboarding myself, but I can give you some advice since I came from kiteboarding. First unless you have a really cheap board from some sports department store I wouldn't worry about a new board yet. First learn all your basic skills then when you start to advance get a new board. This way you will have a better idea of what you want. Plus it will give you a chance to try some other boards and rocker lines out.
I'm 5'5" as well but I have 60lbs on you. I ride 130 when I kite and have a 141 for wake. Board length really is not that big of deal. Shape flex rocker those count for more.
i used to have a a really cheap board. right now i have a 04 hyperlite danny harf board with gator board bindings. bindings dont fit so im going to get new ones, so i was thinking mabey i should just get everything
I'm 5'6, 140 lbs. I ride a 132 Hyperlite Tribute at the moment. The biggest board I've rode was a 138. I feel more comfortable with a shorter board. It comes down to what you feel comfortable on though. I just find the smaller, shorter board easier to ride and throw tricks on. _________________ Phil 4:13
