Is your steering wheel a Nardi? I loved that wheel on the Nautique when I drove it. I was thinking about doing the same thing on mine.

Yup! Mine's a 365 cm. You can find used nardi wheels on eBay from time to time.

Bolted directly up to both the nautique and axis wheel hub. Most boats use a universal mounting hub. Take your wheel off and see if the hub has only one bolt pattern or two. Also, if it doesn't fit, they make adaptors for like $30 that are about half an inch thick.

I made the cupholders using a 1/4 sheet of acrylic from Low's, a bit that my father in law has for his drillpress that essentially lets you adjust two blades in or out to cut a hole whatever size you need. I'd cut rings out of the acrylic sheet and then smooth them out using a circular sanding bit on the drill press. I got some cheap led strip lights off of ebay for like $2 each and attached them to the outside of the cupholders. Then, I slid the rings over the lights/cupholders and wired them to my interior lights. Now that I've done it, I know what I'm doing and it's pretty friggin easy. (Oh, you have to cut twice as many rings as you need and double them up so they are a total thickness of 1/2 inch). Total cost to do 8 cupholders was like $35-40. The speaker rings were more because they used more acrylic, the led strips were a little more, and I had to buy large hole saws.

Do you have any more detailed pictures of this? I showed a buddy these pictures and now he wants me to make some for him.

I don't right now, but I've got some friends who want some and I agreed to help make them. I'll take some pics during that process.

Chattwake, I get from other threads that some of the rings have the leds on the outside and others on the inside. Is this correct? Also, the more expensive rings are clear vs. being opaque.

I'm really just trying to figure out the difference and benefits of those things. I have confidence in doing the project otherwise.

I mounted all of the led's to the inside of the ring. On two of my rear speakers, which were recessed wayyyy back in the vinyl, I just stuck led strips to the outside of the speaker grills without any rings at all because you couldn't see the led's at all when mounted inside a ring.

I think the more expensive rings use more led's. You don't want them to be clear because you want the light to disburse more evenly. That's why you frost the outside edges.

How did you mount the LEDs, just an adhesive or did you recess them by routing a channel in the acrylic?

With the speaker rings, I just put a few dots of clear superglue gel on the inside of the speaker ring and then glued the strip in place. I just cut the rings with a large enough interior diameter to accomodate the space needed to push the strip between the interior surface of the ring and the speaker cradle. Wetsounds' website gives you the exact dimensions of the various parts of their interior speakers - which was a big help.

It's honestly one of the best wakes ever. Like a vlx but not quite as long of a ramp, and a cleaner, but super firm, lip. You can slam this boat with 4k lbs and still have a clean wake at 80ft at 23mph. Not many boats can make that happen.

Check out the wake in this vid. I will be weighing my boat the same as this A22. Factory + plug n play + bow triangle sac = money wake at 23.5mph. Notably, look how far back the wake stays clean despite all of the weight and people in that boat.

Showoff! Smile I love the near solid black look with that white interior. Hell, I'm even drooling over the trailer! LOL

Nice!!!! Now, I hate to share secrets, but if yo u want to make that trailer pop, call Owen at www.boatmatetrailers.com and get him to send you some clear lenses for your trailer. Oh, and pull that red reflector off of the corner of that trailer, as well as that sticker on the side.

Here's a before and after picture. I don't have another more recent side shot, but I'll get one this weekend.

It is. I have a bow triangle that I have only used a few times when we have had tons of people in the cabin and the boat wouldn't plane easily.

So how do you like it Chattake? I've put 6.5 hours on mine the last 2 weekends in half warm weather... Sad It's just getting into the 70's here but it's gotta get broken in. The biggest issue I've had is parking it in the slip at the marina. I got a few dock marks on it the first time out, but they came off with a little elbow grease... Not a bad machine so far, and the wife LOVES it. Mr. Green

Alli_Gator, Loving it so far. I've got over 50 hours of riding time on her. I also have a few dock marks on my rub rail, but, like you say, they come off with a little elbow grease!
