|
|
In this day in age where it is easy enough to get a boat shipped from one side of the country to the other, I have been finding it hard to get anyone to disclose the prices they have paid on their new Axis. Most will give you a range, but narrowing it down to $3,000 or less seems to be fairly uncommon.
I belong to a car fourm and when the G8's came out, people would post their sale agreements online (with personal info blocked out) so that others could determine if they were getting a good deal or not. Why is this not the case in the boat industry?
I will be buying a new A20 (most likely not an A22) in the next 12 months and have been trying to do my reasearch as to what kind of deal I can get and from where. I have no issue taking a road trip 10 or more hours to get a good deal on the boat. (Buffalo area)
So if anyone can shed some light as to out the door pricing on an Axis either A20 or A22 I would appreicate it. Looking for the standard type of options, Wedge, Cover, P&P Ballast Plumbing, Racks (swivel), no need for a Vandell edition. The other minor options I can live with or without but expect that a few are included for the prices listed below.
So far I have been quoted out the door prices of 52k for an A20 and 56K for an A22. I was expecting ~45K for an A20 and 50k for an A22, are these expectations that far off?
Thank you |

| Sounds like what you've been quoted out the door is right to me, assuming the boats have the small motor and are well equipped. |

Ok thanks Chatt, I was under the impression I could get an A22 for slightly under 50 but apprently not. Yes the ones I have been quotted on had other options and the 335 motor.
Fluff options like the Chillax seat, Pull Up Cleats, Battery Isolator switch, Flip Up Driver seat, Depth Finder, quick release knobs etc. Nice but not 100% required if I was to find a boat in stock without some of those options. |

If I was going to buy an A22, and I was budget minded, I'd wait and order a 2011 A22, solid white (that saves you a ton), with a standard bimini, stereo pack 1, chillax seating, flip up driver's seat, standard trailer, battery iso switch, pop up cleats, depth finder, high altitude prop (if you're going to routinely run 750's or 1000's in the rear lockers with the small motor, I'd go ahead and opt for the core prop), and one set of fixed racks.
No heater, no docking lights, no underwater lights, no swivel racks, no custom color placement, no z5, no big motor, no deck track non-skid, no transom remote, no tower speakers, no tower speaker amp, no sub.
You can add the stereo stuff later and save a bid diy. None of the other options I've left off affect the wake.
You should be right where you want to be with those options. A solid white boat looks sick as hell, but also saves you like 3k. |

Thanks Chatt, I was not aware that a solid white boat would be that much cheaper.
The other thing I wish Axis had available was the pricing listed for each option, similar to how car dealers have them online. For instandce I have no idea how much fixed vs. swival racks are but the convience is night and day difference I find.
If I am to order one I was even thinking of leaving the stereo out all together as I can always do that later or even find a used one from an A22 that someone has upgraded.
I am thinking that I will be looking for a 2011 at the end of the season and if I have no luck finding one then ordering a 2012 this winter. |

| Mine will be available, but it will be more than $55k; however, it has the big motor, every option possible - except for salt stuff, and a bunch of extras. You'll see it on here when it gets listed if you're still in the market. |

| Yes it has much more than I need and also at this point I am using it almost exclusively on a River so the A20 may be more practical (and cost effective). Would love to see a used A20 come for sale at the end of this season ideally. |

| i got quoted $57k out the door on a A22 with the tricked out package. Im looking into a A20 myself(but have not priced one yet) and more than likely will end up doing like Chatt said just order a basic solid white boat and then maybe throw some kind of wrap on it down the road. |

| If you don't mind me asking, how much are you planning on dropping on the down payment? I'm also looking in the similar price range and have been running numbers through calculators. This would have to be the first major purchase I would have to finance. |

| I am in Canada and my bank will finance me (LOC) with 0 down. With that being said I do have a 2008 Bayliner as a trade depending if the dealer wants it or sell it and put it against the LOC. |

am I crazy, but I thought AXIS used to have a deal at like 39,999 for a boat with trailer that was reasonably equipped.
Does that not exist anymore? |

| AbsoluteZero, $39,995 was the base price for the boat and trailer when it came out in 2009. That would get you the base boat with no options. The price has gone up since then because of EPA requirements as well as 'normal' annual increases. Even at 2011 prices, I still think that the Axis boats represent a great value for a well constructed boat that produces a world class wake. |

| You will be lucky to find one now below $50k but more like $53-$55k for non-Vandall edition. Dealers can ask what they want almost because they are selling out. You can't order a new Axis until 2012 because they are done with the 2011 production run. You have to take what you can get UNLESS the Malibu/Axis dealer can talk them into trading out a Malibu hull that has be allotted to the dealer for an Axis hull. That's what my dealer did for a customer...they swapped a Malibu VLX for an Axis hull. |

| Gryphon, if that's a brand new 2011, that's a killer deal. I've seen a few used ones go for more. |

Yes it was brand new, the A20 went for 42k (no racks). I knew they were the best prices I had seen yet, but was always looking for a better deal, well now the 2012 prices are up ~8% since they (Malibu) no longer offer cash discount to dealers. |
