I am wondering what the difference is (performance) between an Obrien Clutch, and an Obrien Oasis. Both are Cobe Mikacich boards. The Clutch say "Cobe Mikacich Pro Model" and the Oasis says "Cobe Mikacich signature series"
I'd really like to know how these boards differ from each other.
I couldn't even get a definite answer when I called O'brien! |

I took a quick look, and found the Clutch, but I didn't see the Oasis. Does the site you're looking at give you any of the detailed stats? I posted the Clutch stats below, compare the Oasis to these. The stats I think are most important are the Tip/Mid width and the Rocker. The Clutch has a 2.35 inch rocker, so see if the Oasis is the same or different. If the Oasis is bigger than 2.35, then the board will ride slower through the water, and pop higher upward off the wake. If the rocker is lower than 2.35, then the board will be a little faster in the water, and launch further out from the wake.
These are generalizations, and varies somewhat from shape to shape, but that's a good place to start your comparison of the boards. Sorry I haven't had any personal experience with these.
The Clutch is:
Length: 137 cm (53.94 in)
Mid Width: 16.75 in (42.54 cm)
Tip Width: 11.1 in (28.19 cm)
Rocker: 2.35 in (5.96 cm)
Rocker Type: Three-stage _________________ Keep Austin Weird |

Thanks Savage3221.
The Oasis has a 2.22 Rocker. So that means the Oasis will have less pop, ride faster, and shoot further outside the wake?
The other thing I noticed, is that the molded fins (2 small ones on each side) are shaped different. The Clutch has sharper fins (almost 90 degrees from the board) while the Oasis have gradual rounded ones (like a ramp) What effects does this have? |

Is the Oasis also 3-stage? Or is it Continuous? And yes, the Oasis should launch a little further than higher in perfect theory of all the numbers and whatnot, but you can most certainly pop with the board.
The fins behave is you might imagine, the rounded ones will be a little smoother/slidey and the sharper ones will hold a little more in the water. You'll still be able to break them into a slide whenever you want though. _________________ Keep Austin Weird |

| yes, the Oasis is also a 3 stage rocker. Not sure why they made both of these boards if they are so similar 2.3 vs 2.2 rockers doesn't seem like a big enough difference |
