Anyone know the real differences between the new Watson and Watson Classic? I know the hybrid has a grind base, more flex, etc... but i mostly boat ride and am trying to decide between these two. The only real difference i can spot is that the Classic has molded fins and 2 removables, while the watson has 4 removables.
If you guys have some extra insight I'd really appreciate it
The new Watson is supposed to ride faster and help you land in the flats easier. The Classic is supposed to have more pop for w2w tricks but rides slower. This is what the guys at LF told me when I was looking at a Watson.
I just bought a Watson Classic this year, not necessarily because of the reason mentioned above but because the price was right for a new Watson Classic. I'm sure I would be happy with either.
good stuff. I'm riding an '06 substance right now, so an upgrade to a stage 3 rocker is gona be sweet. and i'm sure the watson classic is still faster than my substance. I so ready for a bigger board... I'm 190lbs riding a 134 lol. a 141 or 143 will sure soften up those landings

Both are awesome boards! depends on your riding style. The watson classic has a center spine so the landings are soft w2w and it pops hard w2w but the spine slows it down. The new watson carries alot more speed and has a really sharp edge.
3 stage isnt neccesarily better just different. A continuous rocker will pop just as hard with the right technique and with more speed it will soften the landings. _________________ Random Acts Of Dumbness Will Always Be Rewarded.
