I'm just wondering, because I can't stand it when my friends get the carpet of my boat wet. Its a 40 oz carpet, on an Xstar, but I'm just wondering is this horrible to get wet? Just today, a HUGE wave I created came over the front of the bow and seriously soaked the whole front carpet. Fortunately, its just like a button in type, so I just took it out, and left it out to dry. Supposedly, the front has a little tube in which the water should drain, but it didnt. I'll have to call someone to maybe check that out??

No harm as long as it's taken care of when you get home.

We get water all over the carpet in my boat. Mostly from the fat sacs leaking when filling and draining them. Also people get out of the water and don't even dry off, they just jump right back into there seat and get everything soaked.

Just let everything dry out and your good for next time.

It's a boat... it's meant to get wet...

Just let it dry out completely so you don't get mildew problems.

Our boat is parked in a hoist with a canopy, so we never cover it. So we don't have anything to worry about then, right?

Don't worry about it, if you worry about getting water in your boat you'll be too stressed out, just let if dry in the sun and maybe use a shop vac if it is still super wet you put it away. It is designed to get wet, plus it is fun to soak the people up in the bow every now and then. If you do it early in the day it will be dry by the time you put your boat away. Also, it is normal for it to stay wet for awhile, it doesn't drain instantly.

No big deal, but my carpet's already f'ed. I used to have an open live wire for my bilge pump on the floor, so during that time I was a little cautious. Now, I figure that the water is good because it washed away all the spilled beer and spilled bong water.

tdes, Bong water? Shame on you. People have to be cautious, safe boaters on the water. Spilling bong water is what gives wakeboarders such a bad rep. Your bass fishers are hitting a "J", skiers the pipe...neither of those leaves quite the stain...on their image. I'm not saying don't do it, I'm just saying don't spill it. We all have a responsibility on the water, and to our boats. And frankly, spilled bongs leave quite the "stank" on us all. So do your fellow boarder a favor: Dump the water out when not in use. Never place the bong in a precarious spot. And never, ever, leave spilled bong water unattended. Together , we can all help clean-up this "skudgy" image and not kill our buzz so quickly.

Thank you.

Just a joke. Actually that has never happened nor has one ever been brought a bong onto my boat. i don't even bring my smokes onto the boat because they always get drenched or someone party fouls them. furthermore, i'm very laid back and elaborate devices aren't my forte on land either. Sure, I don't care about a little doobage or a small piece; but even with that I don't particularly enjoy riding high. I think it's how most of my friends prefer to help pay for gas or something.

Anwyay, I will be careful with people's sensitivity to the 'rep' surrounding wakeboarders. If it makes it any better, I don't consider myself the "wakeboarder" type anyway. I sure as hell don't give off the wakeboarder impression on people. The closest stereotype I'd fall into (esp on the weekends) is a dirty hippie.

So, is the concern that I posted it on the site? Or just that others would see me out there and make a judgement from 100+ feet away? I really don't care about other people's opinions personally, and even if I was, being a wakeboarding lifestyle role model or protecting their image is not something I'm concerned with.

Don't worry about your carpet getting wet. the sun will dry it out faster than you think.. And is there actually a wakeboarder stereotype? I don't know if I fall into that. category... sure I wear wakeboarding tee's about 3 or 4 times a week. that may put me in the wakeboarder stereotype. heh who knows Confused

Its a BOAT with MARINE carpet. It will dry, its meant to get wet. Just prop one side of the cover up for it to vent. I dont really know how it would even be possible for people to get back in the boat and it not get wet unless they completly changed clothes.

Buddy, I don't see the problem in having your carpet not get wet. Sure I have no problem with the seats getting a little soaked, but the carpet is a bitch to not have dry. I've already got brown water stains all over the carpet. I can't leave the cover open because its been raining almost everyday here in orlando, with severe thunderstorms and heavy rain fall which most of the time gets in the boat if the cover isn't properly covering the whole boat.
