A friend just had spinal fusion and he's back swerving and boarding, jumping out of planes and doing all his usual crazy stuff. He doesn't seem to have any issues. _________________ Suck it up and get hardcore! |

Dude, fusion is old news man. tell your doctor to keep up with continued education courses!

i will talk to him about it but the problem i have with one of my disc's is that it is no longer cushioning between the bone, and i am getting bone on bone contact. i don't no how laser would work with that. |

| My husband had it back in 2004...he rides moto, snowboards, etc...he did heal for an ENTIRE YEAR. But after that, he got on his bike and you never would have thought he had any surgery. Wakeboarding is the least of his problems. You just have to recover first. Good luck! |

| Last June I had 2 lower discs removed and titanium rings installed. 2 weeks later, they installed 6 pedical screws and a couple rods. I was back on a board by September lightly. Life has been so much better without all the pain from not having complete discs between my spine. Make sure the Dr. is reputable though. I've seen some hack jobs and people came out worse then when they started. My condition was called Degenerative Disc Disease. |

| well i guess the verdict is in i will be getting my spine fused between s1 and l5. the doctor decided to do just one for now, so there will be no wakeboarding at all this season. i hope to be ready for ski season next winter. i am a little freaked out about it, this will be my first real surgery. |
