They actually put a 2v carb on those? I would have figured it would be a Quadrajet. In any event, you're looking at an intake (Edelbrock Performer, $175) and a carb (Holley 4150 600 CFM, $470), plus some gaskets, fuel lines, misc BS ($100).
If you don't mind running used parts you can probably find a 4v SBC intake for $50 or less, no big deal to run iron since it's raw water cooled (iron lasts longer) and unless you slalom, the extra weight will be welcome. Carb maybe $100-$200 for a marine Holley 600 or 650, plus $50 for a rebuild kit, and then the misc parts.
As for power, maybe 20 HP increase? Most of that will be at higher RPM. It'll be noticeable but not huge. |
