Was just wondering what kind of injury's people are still boarding with? I havent been in water since I broke my back this last September. I crushed my lumbar and still sometimes feel a little pain. I have been looking to see if I can find some type of lower back suppose to wear under my vest. Anybody out there wakeboard still after breaking their back this recently?

Not a broken back but I have a herniated disc in my lower back. I wear a weightlifting belt under my vest whenever I ride. Sure makes my back feel better when I use it. It's been a few years since it happened so I might not even need it anymore but not worth the risk.

Looks like this one.

Yeah dude. I broke my back in a motocycle accident and am completely paralyzed from my belly button down. I learned how to wakeboard after breaking it. Where theres a will, theres a way.

speedLINER, That is great! I dont know if I would have the kind of motivation to create something like that and be able to get back out behind a boat.

But what I am looking more for is something that will help keep me from re-injuring my lower back.

i understand that. well im sure there is a device out there that could help you. Id first start by using one of the lower back braces used in heavy lifting situations.

However, your doctor would probably tell you to stay away from sports that could cause your injury to worsen. Trust me, Id rather never wakeboard again and be able to walk than to be crippled tryin to wakeboard, lol.

goodluck though bro

You said it!!! So much credit to you bro!!!

Have you ever tried an air chair??? seems like its taylor made to your injury... seen some guys doing some amazing stuff on them.

Ever think of swaping that board out for a flex board to help absorb some of the bumps/impact??? (im guessing the new Murray has 0 flex) you must take a beating if its choppy... no???

LaynDoor, I thought about the air chair, but it take alot of hip and abdomen control and I have little to none of that. Good idea though but it just drags me across the water, lol. I jsut got the new Murray yesterday so I dont know how its gonna feel. I had an old Gator Militant and that thing hurt like hell landing. I guess I will find out tomorrow how this Murray is gonna hold up. My pro shop said it anything would be better than my old crap and this one didnt take as much customizing for my setup.
