Closed toe bindings definitely limit who can ride your board, at least comfortably. I wear a size 12 shoe, and I once tried to ride my friend's board who has about a size 10 closed toe binding, and let's just say I won't try that again haha. People with smaller feet than yours will be able to fit in, but because of the construction of closed toe bindings and the fact that a toe cap is used, the binding will most likely not cinch down as tight over the top of their feet. This might allow for a variable amount of movement and most importantly heel lift. I love my closed toe bindings and probably won't ever go back to open toe, but I spent a good amount of money on mine (perfect size, heat molded to my foot) so that I could have a lux binding for MY USE. I kept an old board and got some nice open toe bindings that everyone else uses if they don't have their own setup.
I would say if you are really excited about the sport and progressing, and your girlfriend only rides every now and then, get what you prefer. If you go closed toe, however, definitely try them on before you buy if you can. Then just keep some of your open toe bindings for others to use. my $0.02 |

| Just see what's comfortable for you. Someone with smaller feet can rider your board with CT bindings no problem, bigger feet will have an issue though. |

If you ride a CT binding that is too big for you and you take a TS crash, it's like you just slammed both feet into the coffee table at once. Get whats comfortable for you and get another pair for your honey. _________________ Today is a chance to become a greater person than the person we were the day before. |
