A few things on the list this year...
Stereo - Add an amp to drive the cabin speakers instead of running them off the head unit. Also add a pre-amp EQ to have more of a "zone control" of tower and cabin speakers.
Tower - Add wakeboard racks.
Interior - Replace a few seat bases whose wood was deteriorating.
Mechanical - Replace steering cable and fix oil drain line.
Electrical - Add the ability for the "house" battery to be charged by the engine.
The stereo is done and some pictures are attached. I just got the steering done this weekend, as well. I bought the entire new uflex helm and cable assembly from DIM. WOW! is all I've got to say about the difference. Wakeboard racks are mounted and good to go. Got the rear ski locker lid and driver seat bases replaced. All new wood (slathered in CPES) and foam. The foam had gotten some mildew growth in it. The upholstery shop the PO used probably re-used the wood bases AND the foam from what I can tell. I emailed him to see if he knew and he wasn't sure, but figured they probably did based on the low cost. Still working on the oil line and the best solution for the "house" battery. After that it's time for final clean, polish and wax. I'm also trying to see about getting the trailer wheels looking better _________________ If love is blind, why is lingerie so popular? |

Took her out for the maiden voyage this weekend. Trying to tune the sound system is a little tough. I'm struggling to find the sweet spot where I can have the volume pretty loud and have the cabin speakers sound good without too much low end or without sounding tinny. I think it's going to take a bit more work...I was kind of limited on time this go around. _________________ If love is blind, why is lingerie so popular? |

Okie Boarder, what does a separate amp give you that the receiver didn't? I've always been confused by this. _________________ You have just entered the twilight zone. |

Dredd, thanks.
Wakebrad, more power and less load on the head unit itself. I was having a fair amount of heat on the head unit and it was struggling to produce good sound out of the cabin speakers. _________________ If love is blind, why is lingerie so popular? |

How do you like the fader on the EQ? Its not a ws420 but I bet it nice to be able to fade from the tower to the boat. |

bjeremi, love it! My wife loves it even more. She doesn't like the music real loud in the boat, but I always like it loud when riding. Now we can have both. Maybe that feature goes into the category of the PP as another "marriage saver"...LOL!
Wakebrad, another thing on the HU vs amp. Most HU's only put out 10-15 watts RMS at best. The amp I'm running is now giving those speakers up to 60 watts RMS. Pretty big difference, IMO. _________________ If love is blind, why is lingerie so popular? |

On the maiden voyage the battery died pretty quick with the power I'm pulling now. I decided to get the Sure Power 1314 to handle keeping the battery charged when we're on the water. I'm also setting up a cover for the distribution blocks and mounting the Sure Power and a main fuse for the battery to distribution blocks. I had to order some more cables for all the connections, so I'm still waiting on that to finish it up. Here's a picture of the cover panel so far, though.
I also built blocks to raise up the sub and scoot it back, while letting certain cables go under it. I got those carpeted last night.
As soon as the cables come in, I'll get everything finished up and mounted back in the boat. After that I just need to get the final bottom cover on the new driver seat cushion and I'm all ready to go for the season. _________________ If love is blind, why is lingerie so popular? |
