I just bought myself a 2009 Liquid Force Watson F.L.Y. Edition board from evo.com for $320 as they had a outlet sale on. I liked the look of the standard Watson for a while, and seen quite a few people on here using it with good review, and I like the idea of having a lighter board.
Has the shape of the board changed at all since 2009? the fin configuration seems different on the 2010, but I prefer molded fins, and ride without any center fin anyway.
Anyone have any experience with this board? I havent seen it mentioned much, and was just wondering what people think. Its too late for me to change my mind anyway but just thought id bring it up. |

| I bought a 2009 S4 fly last year. It was super light, but I thought it was really loose. I had a chance to compare it to a non-fly s4 and found out that the fins on the S4 fly were a little different and noticably smaller than the fins on the standard S4. I ordered a 2011 Shane for this season and retired the S4. The lightness of the fly series boards is super cool though! |

2010 was the first year of the new Watson shape. The 2009 FLY is the same as what is referred to now as the Watson Classic. 2010 and up Watson is a whole new design with different features and fin locations. _________________ www.wakeboardstl.com |

Thanks for the comments
I like the loose feeling on the water, I currently use a LF groove, which has no option for adding a center fin. Whenever I use a board with fins now I always take some face plants as they keep catching the water and forcing my front edge in, thats also due to me being quite a noob still though.
one thing im worried about is theres only 2 stance options for the board, and I need quite a wide stance as im tall, so hope that watson likes his stance wide too.
Im looking forward to testing this out next week! |
