So the previous owner installed a valve for the drain plug.
I think it's a great idea, but I can see where it could be really bad if it caught something in the water and snapped off. It's pretty protected behind the outdrive when it's down.
You guys think it would be a problem? Should I leave it or replace it?

Its really just up to you if you would like to leave it or not. If it doesnt leak and you keep your bilge clean theres no real problem but if it were mine id take it out for the fact that when you go to drain it after using it, if it does get stopped up, you can take and stick something in the whole to get it out to continue draining it.

It's a pretty cool idea but my gut feeling thinks you should replace it. But that just IMO

replace it. that is asking for trouble. pull out the pipe, and just get a pipe plug. there about 2$ at home depot. i bet someone had a problem with forgetting to put the plug in.

Kartman, he told me that's exactly why he put the valve on there.
