| Just tried the new grubb 112 after using only cassette for the last year. I am going to buy one this week. The board is very boyant making ollies easier. the edge control was ten times as good. the foam top is nice after being torn up by the grip tape every time out. still plenty of traction. any other opinions. i also like that water won't be getting inside the wood any more. i'm sold. |

I have a 3-d 43 and the grubb 116 and I prefer the grubb. THere is not one thing that I can complain about except the fact that I have to pretty much force it into my board racks. _________________ Calabria Boats Rule! |

I think the hyperlite feels more like a wakeboard that has no bindings. I like the cassette better, it feels a lot different than the Hyperlite and I like grip tape better. Something just feels better when I ride the cassette. It feels more "right", if that makes sense at all. _________________ "What do you mean you're done for the night...Insomnia doesn't even open until 4. | the 116 grubb is sweet, but a bit skinny, my size 13s dont rest comfortably on the tail, i think ill get a mutiny for my next skate unless cassette churns out something sweet. |

K-dub,
No one down here carries Mutiny, otherwise I would ride it just because Kyle rides it. _________________ http://www.mutinywake.com

| I have rode all kings of wakeskates, and here is the best one...the one YOU like, i like the grubb for wake to wake tricks, and I like the LF for lip tricks, They are both a tos up on sliders, the grubb lasts way longer, and they both hurt like hell if you catch the edge...its all up to what you do, i ride the grubby... |

Between the Horrell 41 and the Byerly 107, everytime I ride the byerly 107 i'm feeling more and more comfortable with it. I am however ripping off that eva top and putting on some grip tape. Since I have a smaller feet than some, the narrow width of the Hyperlite really suits me. That Kampus K-39 looks interesting, but it's a flat deck. If they had it concave, composite instead of wood, grip tape, and maybe a continuous rocker (I prefer continous over 3 stage, personally think it's just better for a more street style skate) I'd definitely buy it.
I remember seeing Schmaltz write how he just thought a continuous sk8 just felt better, but I don't see any continuous rocker boards from his company. Definitely wouldn't mind seeing a smaller board (under 40, width narrow too) and a continous rocker coming from Mutiny. _________________ Behind the boat house, I'll show you my DOCK SECRET

There was a continuous rocker line in Mutiny's steadfast series a few weeks ago, but it seems to have dissapeared from the line on their website..? _________________ things aren't that simple... |

b-rad i agree when you say "I think the hyperlite feels more like a wakeboard that has no bindings. that is so true i have ridden hyperlite and cassete i prefer the wood just because it has a skate feel and you can use it on metal rails better!!! |

| i have last year concave cassette and this year i decided to buy the grubb. i think the cassette is such a better wakeskate the grubb is easier to land wake to wake tricks but the cassette just dominates it all |

i think that people taht have never skateboarded before seem to like HL skatees better cause there comin more from a wakeboard background, whereas people that like cassette or grip tape skates seem to come from a skateboard background. I could be wrong though thats just what it seems like down here _________________ "We forget in life that we are not human beings living a spritual experience, but spritual beings living a human experiance."

I actually skateboard and i really don't wakeboard, even though I bought a brand new board and bindings this year, and I prefer the use of a composite over wood (mutiny's board's do seem really intriguing though). Over the 2003 Byerly or 2003 Horrell, I dropped the Horrell in exchange for the Byerly (I'm sticking with griptape though, got rid of that weird EVA stuff). Is it really such a bad idea people that Hyperlite wakeskates may seem like a wakeboard? I really at first didn't like the shape of the Hyperlite, but each time I ride it I'm liking it all the better. I mean, there's really nothing wrong w/ having a wakeskate board that is loose but when on edge you are locked in is there? Or the fact that Hyperlite switched to composite? The composite core in my opinion leads to a lighter yet more responsive board.
I've heard some die-hard Cassette people (nothing wrong with that) say that the Hyperlite boards just don't pop as well as the wood skates. I don't think they have seen how HUGE Byerly's pop shuvits are. It's just that riding a wood skate for a while, you really gotta adjust to the composite's way of pop. _________________ Behind the boat house, I'll show you my DOCK SECRET

dude or dudeette the catalyst is not truly a wakeskate!! it is a mini wakboard.... if you are going to be a true wake skater then you would ride a cassette with the mindset that you have huge balls no fear and that pain is the name of the game... but instead you are buying a miniturize wakeboard that is built by some old skiier who is a sell out to conglomorated america. go ahead support those who monopolize the world to take childrens money and let them think they are the $heit. if you are a core supporter of something greater than your own personal comfort support the core company and take the pain!!!!! _________________ GET RICH OR DIE TRYING |

You know, Scott Byerly and Brian Grubb worked with Scott Bouchard (sp?) on the 2003 Hyperlite wakeskates. I wouldn't call Scott Byerly an old skiier. Plus, what defines a wakeskate huh?

You sound like a poser. I wouldn't limit myself to just Cassette (great company though). the sport is still pretty new and we have to try new things. I don't understand your stupid mindset question. What does that have to do with anything? _________________ Behind the boat house, I'll show you my DOCK SECRET

I just thought it was quite logical.
hrmm... (examing Todd's profile, not pertaining to forum) Grizzly-sports, had some trouble w/ one of their boards at first, but having a great time for a great price from their company. _________________ Behind the boat house, I'll show you my DOCK SECRET
