I am 6 foot and weigh 186 pounds. I was wondering what size wakeboard I should get. I am wondering what wakeboard I should buy. I am looking at the Hyperlite Murray Nova and the Sub 6. Which one do you recommend?

I'm not an expert but I'm 6' 175lbs and I ride a 138. I had a 140 before that and I like the 138 better. I think your good anywhere from 138 to 142 ish. Like I said I'm not an expert though.

Hey mate,

If you want us to suggest wakeboards you should buy then why don't you give us some criteria to go off of? How much experience do you have? What boards have you ridden in the past and what did you like/dislike about them? Do you like a loose board or a tighter, tracky board? What kind of pop/rocker line are you looking for? How much money are you willing to spend (the Sub-6 is a very expensive board even now, years after it came out)?

etc.

I started wake boarding about two years ago and I am trying to get fairly good. I am 16 years old. My last board was a Obrien Vice and I really liked it but it is has become to small for me. I really dont know what I want ,but I really want to get more air and be able to progress on my tricks. I have saved up about 1200 dollars. Sorry about the lack of information ,but thank you for responding.

I can't offer specific suggestions based on that, but I think I can point you in the right direction. Before you go any further, take the time to read this:

http://www.evo.com/how-to-choose-a-wakeboard-and-wakeboard-size-chart.aspx

That will explain everything you need to know about sizing as well as short vs. long boards and different types of rockers. Once you decide on some general characteristics you're looking for, take a look at the full selection:

http://www.evo.com/shop/wake/wakeboards.aspx

This website rules because you can narrow down your choices based on a ton of different criteria (ability level, rocker, price, etc.). I hope it helps!

Thanks for all of the help. I have decided to go with either the Marek Nova or the Murray Nova. That website was awesome. I feel more confidant in choosing now. Smile

Sweet man, I've heard great things about both of those boards and I'm glad the website helped. I look forward to seeing pics of your new ride Very Happy

It's your money so you can do whatever you want with it, that being said there is really no reason to get the Nova core. It weighs less sure, but unless you are a very advanced rider you will not be able to really appreciate the difference. I say get the Biocore and use the money you save for a day of lessons. Much better use of your $!
