Hi guys, Ive been looking at this 1998 Moomba Boomerang boat thats for sale in my area and I was wondering if any of you had any experience with this boat. Id really like to know how well of a wake it puts out and then if it can handle ballast. Ive heard that some boats sit too low and therefore you cant add alot of weight. Any help would be great.

| That would be one of those boats that you've heard about. It's got a really low freeboard (so can't be loaded down much), not to mention it doesn't really kick out that great of a wake due to its hull design. I am not sure what your price point is, but I suspect you should be able to find a Nautique 2001 in that price range, which is the boat that I would choose, even though it would probably be 10 years older. |

One of the worlds best slalom ski wakes. Its a very very small boat. There is no room to sac it out. But if you can buy it cheap it is very reliable workhorse - no wood like a 10 year older boat.
Here is how to trick it out for about $2500, Adjust the wakeplate on the back all the way up, put 2x750 on either side of the engine cover, drop down one pitch size on prop to match the ballast for best fuel consumption, forget a tower and do a pole, top it off with GPS cruise. _________________ Life is too short

I have a 99 Boomerang and it puts off a decent wake at 19-20. I put in four db coax speakers in the cabin, a 12" sub in the bow and four Kicker HLCD's on the tower. With twin 550lb fat sacks (or 5 passengers) we do just fine.
My dad & I wake surfed this past weekend with no ballast at 10 mph.
Monster wakes are ideal but not everything in wakeboarding, technique is #1 in my opinion and if the Boomerang fits your budget then go for it.

For an Older moomba, that things looks pretty sweet. Tower and speakers definitley modernize it. Nice work. _________________ 2010 Watson Hybrid
